🚨🚨New Study🚨🚨
Average new #ElectricVehicles today produce more than 50 percent less global warming pollution than a comparable gasoline or diesel vehicle.
2/ Electric cars and trucks are much cleaner than gasoline vehicles even when you account for battery manufacturing. #ClimateAction#ClimateCrisis
3/ The extra emissions from EV manufacturing are erased after less than 21,000 miles for cars, and 17,500 miles for trucks. That's less than two years of average driving.
4/ #ElectricVehicles will get dramatically cleaner than gas cars and trucks as more renewable electricity generation comes online. By 2034, EV cars will be 15x more efficient than gas sedans, and over 25x more efficient than gas trucks.
5/ Note that the study understates EV benefits because it includes Plug-in hybrid EVs in the average (see page 20 "Emissions Rate Assumptions and Results by Subregion").
Better look at the most efficient #EVs to get a better idea of where we're headed.

What happened to @VW's EV sales this quarter? They're only a fraction of Q4 sales. This is VW's home turf!
Maybe the media should look into this before spinning doom on Tesla's EU Q1 deliveries which are always backloaded to the last month b/c of overseas shipping. $TSLA
2/ Could this be due to the channel stuffing that was reported by Greenpeace where more than 20% of the EVs VW "sold" were self-registered by dealers so that VW could escape from emissions penalties?
Seems like a $NIO backer tried a clever ruse to get pack swapping back in the news by inducing Tesla to deny they had plans to introduce it in China. Why won't they?

2/ To be competitive with high-speed charging stations, Nio’s network needs to have at least one swap station per six charging plugs. Swaps don’t surpass charging until the ratio is more like 1:4. Otherwise, Nio drivers are just waiting in line.
3/ Nio would need a site with fifteen swapping stations just to match this new @Tesla Supercharger station in China.
