Today @SoniaFurstenau called on Minister of Health @AdrianDix to release the Medical Services Commission's report on Telus Health’s private, fee-based #healthcare programs.

Which are accused of allowing queue-jumping, and contributing to a two-tier healthcare system. 1/ #bcpoli

Almost a million British Columbians go without a #familydoctor and the numbers increase as family doctors close their practices and move to for-profit healthcare providers who lock their services behind a paywall. 2/ #bcpoli #healthcare

We must protect our public #healthcare system from the encroachment of for-profit interests.

When @AdrianDix and the @bcndp were in opposition, they advocated fiercely for this position.

But in gov't we have not seen that same conviction in action. 3/ #bcpoli #familydoctor

Instead they’ve sat on this for 6 weeks, refusing to share a report of vital importance on the future of our public healthcare system with the public. 4/ #bcpoli #healthcare

The @BCGreens believe that the gaps in our #healthcare system needs to be filled by a government with a plan, not by corporations eyeing a business opportunity.

The @bcndp's lack of action on this file suggests they don't see it that way. 5/ #bcpoli

BC needs plan that'll give #healthcare professionals the freedom to build their own team-based practices, with the gov't-funded infrastructure to support them.

Otherwise we'll see more doctors burn out & move to more sustainable and lucrative positions in the private sector. 6/

The solutions to our #healthcare crisis are in front of us, the doctors, nurses & staff who care for us each day know what needs to be done.
