Surprisingly, the Zubr class hovercraft in Feodosia, Crimea, Black Sea, has been moved since the start of the #Ukraine War
The Pr. 12322 Zubr is the largest type in the world
Thread/
2/ It is at Feodosia 'More' shipyard. This was Ukrainian but was taken over by Russia gov 100% in 2014 when Crimea was annexed.
In 2014 it became part of Rostec. Now in March this year, after the invasion, it was transferred to United Shipbuilding Corporation. No fee
3/ In the past it built many of the Zubrs, including two for China. One of these was rushed off Crimea in 2014 moments before the annexation
4/ After the #Russian take-over, the shipyard didn't seem to do very well. But it did build Pr.22800 Karakurt-class missile corvettes. These are armed with Kalibr cruise missiles
5/ Raptor assault boats at the shipyard's harbour, Jan 2017
6/ The exact hovercraft is likely an Ex-Ukrainian Navy example, possibly U423 Gorlovka. Google Earth history shows that it has been in the open there since at least September 2020. With Sentinel-2 imagery we can say since July 2020 #OSINT
7/ Why has it now been moved? Is it being brought back into service for the #Russian Navy? I don't think so
Possibly to make space for new warships, up to corvette sized, which will be built there
/end
Typo .. In **2018** it became part of Rostec. Same difference though
Forgot to say, it was moved between April 6th and April 9th

#Ukrainian strike on #Russian Navy base at Sevastopol in Crimea appears to have damaged, possibly seriously (TBC), the submarine support ship Kommuna (ref ) hisutton.com/Russian-Navy-K…
Video
Kommuna gets a degree of sympathy because she is an ancient and beautiful ship, 112 years old(!).
But objectively she is a legitimate target and provides Russian navy with valuable capabilities. She often participates in submarine trials and can conduct seabed warfare

This is the previous graphic shared by manufacturer Andruil, when the deal for 3 vehicles was announced. See hisutton.com/Australian-Nav…
The design has a square cross-section which contrasts with the rounded form of the previous artworks. This maximizes volume for its given outer dimensions
Crucially, it can still likely fit inside a standard shipping container, an advantage over larger types like the Boeing Orca used by U.S. Navy

2 years ago today, Ukraine hit the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship Moskva with two Neptune missiles.
At the time it seemed like a spectacular event. But the real story of how Ukraine turned the situation in the Black Sea around was only beginning. #Moskvahisutton.com/Russian-Navy-M…
Reports that Transnistria (part of Moldova) may request annexation by Russia.
May trigger action from Moldova with #Ukraine help
#Russia realistically unable to intervene, in part because Ukraine has sunk so many of its landing ships in past 2 years

Unconfirmed: #Ukrainian GUR maritime drones (USV) (likely Magura) attacked #Russian Ropucha landing ship Caesar Kunikov in (Цезар Куніков) near Crimea.
Firstly, if USNavy or Royal Navy deploy ships, I would expect only ‘defensive’ ships to be sent. Most likely coast guard and/or mine hunters. The reasons are obvious.
