This is what a top @thenff official says: “@Aiteo_Group has not paid. Under the contract, it’s the sponsor that pays the prize monies. The sponsor has not made available both the prize monies and other sponsorships funds due to @thenff.”
He continued: “This is the reason @thenff refused to start the 2022 @AiteoCupNgr, until the sponsor commited some payments and guaranteed to settle the [outstanding] balance…
“@Aiteo_Group only made commitments in the first week of July and the @NPFLOfficial had just a couple of days to finish… so we had to finish quickly and start the @AiteoCupNgr, with the objective to conclude quickly and submit the #CAFCC rep to @CAF_Online.”
And here’s the punchline from the top @thenff official: “We were actually willing to abort this years @AiteoCupNgr tournament, had @Aiteo_Group not paid, as it’s the last year of their sponsorship contract and then take them on [legally, to get the unpaid contract sum.]”
I wonder what the @Aiteo_Group has to say, in response to these claims that they have not promptly met their their contract obligations to @thenff. I wait to hear from them.

In a separate discussion I had with a top executive of @AlAhly@AlAhlyEnglish on Friday, he told me @CAF_Online was yet to give his club “concrete details” of how the Super League proposal will work.
“We were invited to #Cameroon for the last #AFCON, where the preliminary plan for the #AfricanSuperLeague was put to us & selected clubs from across the continent. But no concrete details, on the finances and other important details, have been given, up till now.”
On @TheRealPitso: “#Ahly, as a club, hold him in the highest regard, though he is no longer with us. He was never sacked & he never came to us with a desire to leave. The mutual decision to part was a consequence of discussions that we had, which showed a difference in vision.”
“@TheRealPitso, in the entire history of @AlAhly, is the only coach to retain his position after losing the league title. This tells you the regard in which we held him. But it came to a point where we asked him to make changes and he didn’t agree to them, so things ended.”
Breaking: I have spent the last half-hour with a @CAF_Online official, explaining, off the record, their #WAFCON2022 position on #TeamZambia ‘s @BarbraBanda11. It was a deeply robust discussion and I will disclose what he said. (A thread…)
“Osasu, everyone is criticising us for Banda. But I have one question - did @FAZFootball submit her name as a member of #TeamZambia for the #WAFCON? They never did, at any time. So, how can we talk about a player that was never put forward for registration or registered?”
“@FAZFootball never did, at any time, tell us that @BarbraBanda11 had any issue that made her ineligible for the #WAFCON in #Morocco. That is the truth of the matter. We are not obligated to ask why a country did not register a player for it. That’s an internal matter.”
I am made to understand that @FAZFootball have made it clear that they are holding @CAF_Online fully responsible for @BarbraBanda11’s exclusion from the #WAFCON2022, as a consequence of the gender rules they imposed. More details to follow, as it comes…
This is what Inaki said to @guardian_sport in September 2021: "Ghana tried to convince me, but I was born in Spain, in Bilbao. I won’t ever forget my family roots, but I feel Basque and can’t con anyone. I would be comfortable with Ghana, I’m sure, but I shouldn’t be there …”
"My parents are from Accra and I really enjoy going. But I wasn’t born or raised there, my culture’s here, and there are players for whom it would mean more. I don’t think it would be right to take the place of someone who really deserves to go and who feels Ghana 100%.”
From what my #TeamZambia source is saying, and documentation, @CAF_Online clearly has gender/DSD rules players must meet, before they are eligible to play at the #WAFCON, which begs the question: What rules did Barbara Banda fail to meet, that she met for the 2020 @Olympics?
I understand that @CAF_Online is going to release a formal statement to state their position. I hope they do that ASAP, because in Banda’s case, it is coming FOUR YEARS late. There are more questions than answers at the moment.
Every national team doctor at the @CAF_Online#WAFCON has to sign this declaration, which states that every player has been “examined by them or an APPROPRIATE SPECIALIST, to VERIFY their gender.
