Hi all, as you may know I have been quite sick with brain fog and exhaustion and as a result haven't been working at my usual tech art job.
So, I have decided to run some short live #gamedev#3dart masterclasses!
I think the best way to do this have a few small test classes of around five students on Discord for, say, three sessions.
Starting subject is "Optimising 3D game models" and will be for people who know how to model at a comfortable speed in any app- but want to...
...learn practical techniques for optimised models.
Any 3D app. No discord cam needed if you have issues.
I will review and teach techniques using your last sessions models and give KIND constructive feedback, that builds your confidence and toolbox.
These will be mentor classes, with no certification.
Lemme know if you are keen or if you run online courses and want to help me partner up to run these.
:)
Looking at around 300 Aud for six hours- 3 hrs lessons and 3 hrs review.
I probably will run the first ones from 6pm to 8:30pm GMT +10.
Just a reminder I have been a technical/character artist in film and games for decades, working on licenses such as Unreal Tournament, Dungeons and Dragons, Civilisation, Where The Wild Things Are, Dragonage, God of War and boy golly gosh a shit tonne more.
Comments on any other classes you would like to see.

Executive dysfunction can be like trying to play a video game with the controller disconnected.
You know what you need to do, you want it, you know the stakes if you dont and you are pressing on the controller... but no signal goes through.
You can't. It hurts to try.
I have had this paralysis hit on projects and I get 90 percent of the way through and then...
Boom
Brick wall. Can't do it. Can't even go to the computer. Can't get up. Will do literally anything except that one thing.
And it hurts to even think about it.
This is ADHD paralysis and it can seriously fuck your life up.
Sometimes it goes away on its own accord, but often you have to trick it into submission and even then it is hella painful, like trying to work through a panic attack.
Okay so some benefits of #ADHD for those reading my post and realising they need to go get tested and what it could mean for their lives.
First up, breathe, a diagnosis and treatment means things get better.
K?
You are good.
1. ADHD people are extremely good in a crisis situation. We thrive on the extra stimulation, and it releases enough dopamine to get us from deficit to normal resting state.
That means when everyone else is freaking the fuck out, we become calm, controlled and organise stuff.
When the shit hits the fan, such as a disaster, fire, flood etc... ADHD people can often step up and help organise the situation for panicking people.
High intensity jobs are good for us.
What if there is not only a massive body of scientific evidence but also people with #ADHD also had life changing benefits from the medications that enabled them to lead perfectly normal lives without pain, guilt and discomfort.
