Here are a few things to remember if you are writing the #UPSC Mains 2022 tomorrow or in the future.

A thread 🧵:
• READ THE QUESTION(a few times!)

When we’re stressed,we tend to miss the finer details while reading. Keep calm & read the question and its sub-parts a few times(even while writing).

READ. UNDERSTAND. WRITE.

Don’t regret that you lost marks coz you didn’t read properly!
• BE AWARE OF THE TIME :

Remember to keep track of time.
Carry a wrist watch.
In Essays - keep a few minutes to brainstorm & only then start writing.
It’s a race against time.
There have been several talented individuals who haven’t cleared only coz they couldn’t complete!

The #UPSC Mains Exam is the most important stage & can be the determining factor that influences the final outcome.
One of the easiest but oft-ignored methods to ensure a high overall score is to work hard at the Essay.

What are the mistakes to avoid in an Essay?
Thread 2 🧵:
•LACKING CLARITY:

In the introduction, you must state your thesis- your opinion regarding the topic/issue.

Thus, do not show ambivalence in the essay or deviate from your stand that you have emphatically taken in the beginning.

Do not contradict yourself or your ideas.
•ARTIFICIAL/ILLOGICAL LINKAGES:

Eg: Para 1: The problem of malnourishment can be solved by implementing the recommendations of X committee.

•Para 2: Additionally, man has made giant strides towards setting up a colony on Mars.

✅Ensure a smooth & logical flow throughout.
