Devi Padmavathi is the incarnation of devi Lakshmi. She is also called as Alamelumangai.
The deity is facing towards east.
The Mandir is facing east with five tiered Rajagopuram.
It is being administered by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
It is believed that the devi Lakshmi was born as Alamelu to Akasha Raja, the ruler of this region & wed Venkateshwara of Tirupati. Devi Lakshmi gave darshan to shri Venkateswara on a red Lotus flower (Padma in Sanskrit) at Alamelu mangapuram after his deep penance for 12 years.
Padmasarovaram is the mandir tank of Sri Padmavathi mandir. It is believed that devi Padmavathi manifested in this Tank in golden Lotus flower (padmam) on ‘Sukla Paksha Panchami’ day in the Kartheeka masam.
The wishes of those who visit Tirupati Balaji's are fulfilled only when bhakts take blessings by visiting Sri padmavathi mandir along with Balaji.
