📍CONFIRMED—White House COVID rules require that @WhiteHouse reporters meeting with the @POTUS are still required to get a same day negative PCR test, per @ddiamond. Doesn’t sound like pandemic is over. #CovidIsNotOver
2) Also the estimated deaths in mid Sept also clearly don’t support pandemic being over either. #covidisnotover
3) COVID is clearly not over. Besides bad comms, I worry about all the vulnerable people who are immunocompromised or have risk factors out there—which is a LOT of Americans. #CovidIsntOver

2) Also, there is a new detailed study that shows 60% of excess deaths in Singapore were directly from #COVID19 while the majority of the remaining “non-COVID” deaths were deaths within 90 days of COVID infection. So indirectly still COVID. 👀
3) And yes, 3000-4000 is the ballpark since we do see 400-500 direct COVID deaths a day regularly lately. That’s not even counting COVID-exacerbated illnesses.

The @US_FDA is warning against a social media challenge which involves people coating their poultry in NyQuil—the “NyQuil Chicken Challenge”, warning it could have very dangerous outcomes — not just if ingested but from cooking process.

Just to be clear— it’s real. The @US_FDA is very serious warning about this.

3) Boiling a medication can make it much more concentrated and change its properties in other ways. Even if you don’t eat the chicken, inhaling the medication’s vapors while cooking could cause high levels of the drugs to enter your body. It could also hurt your lungs.
