Putin's speech disinformation & propaganda 🧵

He implies again that people were not allowed to speak Russian in Ukraine. Putin claims the borders after 1991 were random, people were not asked. This is also false. Referenda in 1991 were recognized by the international community.

He asks for a minute of silence for Sachartchenko and Arsen Pavlov. Arsen Pavlov was a war criminal from Moscow and leader of the ultranationalist Bataillon Sparta. Sachartchenko once said, "we should conquer Kyiv, Berlin, England and restore the borders of the Russian Empire".

Putin speaks about sovereign nations (implies that EU/NATO countries are not sovereign nations). In reality of course, Russia does not accept sovereign nations in his neighborhood.

Now he speaks about LGBTQ rights in the West. "Do we really want that we are not allowed to say mum and dad any anymore?" "The West propagates satanism, normalization of transgender people".

"All over Europe and also the US, we have likeminded people who think like we do and we see that. These forces will define the future". Well, I guess this refers to the so called "useful idiots" and several populist movements in the West.

"we fight for a big historical Russia" This shows again the imperial ambitions. On the beginning of his speech he speaks about the "tragedy of the Soviet collaps"

Summary: victim blaming, nationalism, historical revisionism, blaming others of what actually Russia does and a not well hidden war decelaration against the West. #Putin
