#Nanganallur It used be one far away suburbs of Chennai once upon a time. Not any more. It is now one of the bustling and vibrant places and part of Chennai corporation. This post is not about the social aspect of the place but about how it has become the home of several temples
which are spreading divinity to all of Chennai. Maha Periyava Himself has said that (originally Nangainallur Nangai+Nallur means place of good-natured women) it is a Punya kshetram. 1. First and foremost is the Anjaneyar Temple. A very powerful deity. Vishwaroopa Anjaneya stands
tall as the testimony of courage, beliefs and happiness in the great idol worship, its around 2 miles from the Palavanthangal/ Nanganallur Railway Station.
2. Varasidhi Vinayagar Temple: Located at Ram Nagar 2nd Street, is said to be one of the oldest temples which had Kanchi
Periyavar staying in the temple during his visits to Nanganallur.
3. Sri Lakshmi Haygreevar Temple: Hayagreevar is the Lord of Knowledge and Learning, this temple which is very close to Varasidhi Vinayagar temple is one of rarest Haygreevar temples in Tamil Nadu
4. Sri Uttara Guruvayur temple: A Beautiful temple in Kerala style and a replica of the one in Kerala including Guruvayoorappan. It is very close to the above two temples. Goddess Bhagavathi is a beautiful part of this temple along with sanidanams for Ayyapan & Prasanna Vinayaka
along with Navagrahas. This temple is also famous for #AnnaPraasanam for children
5. Sri Raghavendra Swamy Temple: Also called as Dakshina Mantralayam and is an abode of peace and simpleness and the beautiful image of Lord Raghavendra in the mandap opposite to the temple is a
must see. This temple is very close to Anjaneyar temple.
6. Sri Ayyappan Temple:- Here Lord Ayyappan looks like in Sabarimala. It is an uncrowded and peaceful temple just on the back side of the Anjaneyar temple. It is said that no where in the world, there are two powerful
Bharmachari swami's standing back to back and giving blessing to devotees in the world. It is said that visiting both Ayyappan and Anjaneyar temples for 9 weeks on Saturdays will ward of any kind of evil and unpleasantness in life. Many devotees vouch for that.
7. Sri Lakshmi Narasimhan Temple: Walkable distance from Ayyapan and Ajaneyar temples is the beautiful new temple of Lord Lakshmi Narasimhan. The pleasant Narasimhan with his consort on the lap gives blessings and its is believed that Lakshmi Narasimha always blesses for Runa
Vimochanam. Means, we get rid of our loans, here the context is of our bondages with people, materialistic things and life. A really beautiful temple. It is in 24th Street of Tilla Ganga Nagar.
8.Sri Devi Karumari Amman Temple: This is the old temple which is next to the
Lakshmi Narasimhan temple and facing the new bridge connecting Velacheri. The goddess is beautiful here and adjacently there is Lord Balaji blessing as we enter the temple
10. Sri Raja Rajeshwari Temple and sri Lakshmi Satyanarayana perumal temple: Nanganallur Raja Rajeshwari is
famous since old days and because of this temple's goddess #Nangai the area got its name as Nanganallur. The approach roads are bad but plan to park your vehicles at distance and walk to the beauty of the godess with Kumkumam in the first floor of the temple. There are 16 steps
and every step is adorned with one form of the goddess and its nice to visit Perumal after Amman darshan in the ground floor. Adjascent is Satyanarayan swami temple where goddess Lakshmi is present in the heart of Satyanarayan swami.
11. Sri Ardhanadeeswaran and Durgai Temple:
This temple is located in the main market place of Nanganallur. This temple is called as KethuStalam and the near by temple tank is said to be where the idol of Ardhanadeeswarar was found by Paramcharya. Durgai amman is beautiful and pleasant in this temple and called as
#Sarvapala_Nayaki means the goddess who gives everything. 12. Dharmlingeswaran Temple: This is located in south Nanganallur and is said to be the oldest temple in the area. Built during Pallava dynasty, more than 1000 years old, this temple is an indication of a established
civilization in Nanganallur.Lord Dhanmeswar was discovered during a construction and the temple was later renovated and worshiped.
13. Navaneetha Krishnan and Lakshmi Narasimhar temple: This is also an old temple dated to 8th century and beautiful for its architecture. The main
sanctum facing east enshrines the imposing image of the principal Deity, Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. The other murtis, which adorn the beautiful main sanctum are those of Lord Pradosha Narasimha, for whom special worship is performed during every pradosha and Sri Chakrattazhvar. Also
seen here are images of Sri Vishvaksena, Swami Nammazhvar, Sri Ramanujar and Sri Vedanta Desikan. An interesting and rare architectural feature of this sanctum is a circular shaped pillar which resembles a stambha from which Lord Narisimha emerged to protect His child-devotee
Prahlada.
14. Oppliappan Temple: This temple is the oldest temple for Oppliappan in Madipakkam and the main deity is Lord Rama in Pattabishekam Rupam.
15. Sri Gayathri Devi Temple and Mother and Aurobindo Centre: Gayathri Devi temple is in the complex of the Mother Centre for
Meditation and with Vinayagar and Gayathri Devi.
Close to Puzhithivakam lake is the beautiful meditation centre of Mother of Pondicherry. Similar to Pondy, the serenity of the silence, flowers and incense smell, makes the place vibrate in a silence where only our inner
consciousness emerges with peace and contentment.
16. Visa Anjaneyar:- This is the small Anjaneyar temple very close to Modern school in Nanganallur, where people believe that prayers at this temple brings them opportunties abroad! May sound unbelievable but many devotees vouch!
Like how we go to Madurai, Kanchipuram to just visit the temples there one can make a trip to Nanganallur to visit all the temples 🙏here and get abundance of blessings.
If I have left out any temple you may mention in the replies.
Sarvam Sri Krishnarpanam
There is a mistake in numbering. I apologise. I have written about only 15 temples.

#MahaPeriyava#ResultofAmbalWorship
Ambal upasana itself is a great blessing. We do not require any other boon. But due to the entanglement in the world which is perceived through Maya, we are unable to shed our ego initially and seek the happiness derived out of meditating on
Her and for Her sake alone. We expect something in return and worship her in anticipation of our wishes getting fulfilled. She also gives allowance by answering all our prayers as long as they are fair and not against Dharma.
Acharyal knows the nature of humans. He knew that if
said initially that by the upasana of Ambal we can get rid of births and attain Moksha no one would be interested to involve themselves. So when listing out in the #Soundaryalahari as to what one can get by Ambal’ s worship, he starts with knowledge, wealth, and beauty. In the
#MahaPeriyava#Navarathiri
It was on Saraswathi Pooja day during Navarathri that this incident happened. As usual, Sri Maha Periyava completed the Chandramouleeswara pooja and started doing the Saraswathi pooja. One Vaideekar Purohit Mama was sitting near Him and was reciting
the pooja mantras from a book in his hand. He recited the Sankalpam, Aavahanam, Prana Prathista, Anga Pooja and started reciting the Saraswathi Ashtotram. At the end of each Namaha, Swamigal was offering Her a flower. Then the Vaideekar came to the line and read:
“Om Brahma Jayayai namaha!"
The flower in the Hands of MahaSwamigal did not reach Saraswathi's Lotus Feet but remained motionless in His hands, about to be delivered! The Vaideekar kept reciting the same Namavali “Om Brahma Jayayai namaha” in the same manner, several times but
#cleaning_of_lamps in the lamps that we light everyday in the altar is divine in itself. Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi and other Gods reside in the lamp. The lamp needs to be periodically scrubbed and cleaned and kept in good shape. There are certain days only appropriate to
clean the lamps. From midnight of Monday midnight of Wednesday Kubera Fhana Dhakshayini resides in the lamp hence not suited to clean the lamp during that period. Friday is not allowed as Kubera Sanganidha Yakshini who brings prosperity to our homes will leave. So Sunday, Monday,
Thursday and Saturday are the only days to clean the lamps. If the lamps are cleaned on Sunday and lighted, ailments related to the eyes will go away. If the lamp is cleaned in Monday and lighted worrying over problems will go away bringing peace of mind. If the lamps are cleaned
