Tried making tator tots using an American recipe but forgot Australian potatoes are weaker and poofier than Yukon gold. So... ended up more like deep fried gnocci. #cookingWithoutShoggoths
Food stylist shot.
I think completely removing the par boiling step and doubling the seasonings to flour ratio from the US recipes will make your average Aussie supermarket spud behave more tot like.
I prepared one (1) simple meal and am exhausted.
Ignore what the twats say, this long covid thing doesn't fuck around.
Update: I smashed up the remaining somewhat disappointing tater tots and fried them in butter with kale and eggs to make a bubble and squeak.
Absolutely brilliant. Having the part crunchy/par soft and gnocci like textures makes for a better bubble and squeak than roasties!

People with #ADHD have a hard time dealing with the assumption by neurotypicals that things that are easy and effortless for them, must be the same for us.
Neurodiverse/neurodivergent means our brains are physically different, and behave differently.
For ADHD, we have additional misinformation hanging around that "doctors believe is doesn't exist" and that it is just an excuse for laziness.
These days is well documented and far greatly understood however the tabloids press still push the idea of it being 'made up'.
This stems back to capitalist propaganda media pushing back against welfare and disability, and wouldn't you know- the tabloid newspapers are owned by... well, guess.
ADHD is a disability, and has severe adverse effects on ones ability to perform in standard employment models.
My coping strategies so far with #LongCovid haven't been working, and I have come to conclusion that my goal right now is to rearrange my life around it, rather than wait for medical or government help.
Because I actually want to thrive.
1: I get out of breath easily, and dizzy shortly after.
Okay, so I need to break physical activities up into short chunks, and have a chair handy.
Standing tasks (like laundry sorting) need to be rethought to sitting on the floor tasks.
2: I cannot work with highly technically complex problems due to brain fog.
Instead, I can consult for small game studios on their technical challenges, teach, advise, review and prepare documentation for them to ease their challenges.
I am going to change my twitter content to be less negative, more positive and uplifting, despite my soul crushing, depressing, future less, abandonment drenched, hopeless life situation.
So... uhm... yaaaaay! Life is... em... great!
Be happy everyone! Our government loves us
I feel so happy that my tax dollar has gone to ensuring my future, and that, as a late fourties professional who has never been able to afford a home, get full time contracts with benefits and access the healthcare I need, I can rest assured coal barons are getting nice subsides.
And now I look on to an uncertain future, with a barrier to entry for getting treatment for a disease I only contracted because the government insisted the kids go back to school, I can only be thankful and joyful that I do not qualify in any way for disability pensions.
#longCovid practical information continues to be conflicted and vague. It is understandable that much is unknown, but surely we have had sufficient time to monitor long covid cases to at least initially lay out a basic self care guide.
I still cannot find consistent information to base my daily behaviours on.
Exercise? Obviously mobility, strength and stretching seems logical, but should I be pushing my lungs with aerobic exercise?
Walking? Aim for out of breath? Short distances? Slow and long?
What?
Yoga is often mentioned, but many of the routines (by dubiously qualified people) seem risky when you get head spins and changes in stance can make you feel feint.
"The Breather" is being suggested to train lungs, but all reviews of the product are usually "it fell apart"
@MasterClass you need to fix your renewal cancellation system. The web page sends the user to the iPad app, and gosh, wouldn’t you know it? The iPad app sends the user to the web page.
All your help files link you… wait for it… back to the app.
Masterful.
Now I am opting for public humiliation here because the huge number of people answering “no” to the “was the article helpful” in your help file is embarrassingly high.
Smells deliberate.
Great classes, really dodgy move here though. Not cool.
