Madrid took a deserved lead when Kroos drove from midfield past Busquets he played the ball In behind the Barca defence for Vinicius to run into the space.
He has a 1v1 with Ter Stegen which he saved & Benzema scored with the rebound thanks to a deflection from Sergi Roberto.

Madrid made it 2-0 when Vinicius receives the ball on the edge of the box he back heels too Tchouameni who passed out wide to Mendy he cuts the ball back for Valverde with all the time in the world under no pressure to shoot powerfully into the bottom corner.
Barca started slowly grew into the game got DeJong & Pedri on the ball & created a couple of chances but nothing like the quality chances that Madrid had Lewandowski & Raphinha having the best chances.

For them at all especially in midfield Busquets has been too deep & this meant that Pedri & De Jong we’re too isolated.
Their was no real pressure on Kroos, Modric & Tchouameni it was so easy at times for them to keep the ball & find the space past Barcas midfield to the give…

Barcelona did improve especially when Xavi made changes to bring on the likes of Ferran Torres, Gavi & particularly Ansu Fati who played really well. They were unlucky not to have a penalty when it appeared that Lewandowski was fouled by Carvajal.

They were able to press higher & put Madrid under consistent pressure this caused Madrid problems they couldn’t keep hold of the ball meaning Barca had good possession in Reals half & created a couple of chances. Ansu Fati had a shot from the edge of the box that went just wide.
Barca then got back into it after brilliant play by Ansu down the left wing he put in a lovely cross that was tapped in at the far post by Ferran Torres.

Small changes & at times realise who Barca are playing against their game plan today was exactly how Madrid wanted Barca to play small changes like not telling Roberto to attack because of Vinis pace.

Behind & maybe look for alternatives in personal & system not to play Busquets he didn’t play well today he was isolated because DeJong & Pedri pressed higher this for me was a main reason why Madrid controlled the game & Madrid started to struggle when Busquets was subbed.
