A momentous occasion as 7 MoUs were signed to harness our State’s potential in renewable energy, skill development and tourism & hospitality.

Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) signed separate MoUs with @MicrosoftIndia, @GoogleIndia, @larsentoubro and @HSSC_India.
Similarly, MoUs were executed between Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training (DECT) & Info Edge (India) Ltd better known as Naukri.com, between ATDC & @TataSTRIVE and between @apdclsocial & SGEL, a subsidiary of SJVN Ltd.
The signing of the 7 MoUs will help us realise our dream of a developed Assam in line with the vision of Adarniya PM Shri @narendramodi ji to transforming North East into a ‘New Engine of Growth’ to power #AtmanirbharBharat.

Myth 1: Centre is not doing enough to buy vaccines from abroad

Fact: Buying vaccines internationally is not similar to buying off the shelf items. Vaccines are in limited supply globally & companies have their own priorities, game-plans & compulsions in allocating finite stocks.
Myth 2: Centre has not approved vaccines available globally

Fact: The Central Government has proactively eased entry of vaccines approved by US FDA, EMA, UK's MHRA and Japan's PMDA, and WHO's Emergency Use Listing into India in April.

Visited Maha Mrityunjaya Temple, Nagaon & interacted with DC, SP & officials of Forest Dept & PWD with a view to transform temple as a major tourist attraction in the dist

MLA & Political Secy @jayanta_malla, Nagaon MLA Rupak Sarma, Barhampur MLA @JituGoswamiBJP were present 1/4
Directed Social Forestry Dept to take up plantation program in temple premises.

Instructed PWD to expeditiously execute scheme for two landings of the road leading to the temple & the dist admin to develop proper traffic system & adequate parking facilities around it 2/4
Inquired into the recent unfortunate incident of death of several elephants at Bamunipahar, Nagaon.

Forest Department has been instructed to carry out extensive plantation drive on the hills. 3/4

HEALTH: The tried and tested formula of test, track and treat, which yielded very positive results last year, is being implemented and efforts are on to augment testing all over the State. 2/n
HEALTH: Special emphasis is being given for accumulation of oxygen from different plants functioning in Assam and neighboring states. Oxygen production capacity has been increased to 58.5 MT/day. Oxygen Generation Plants have been installed by Govt in all Medical Colleges. 3/n

As a part of Hon PM Sri @narendramodi's comprehensive vision for improving universal access to health services, 50 lakh + patients have been served remote doctor consultation through eSanjeevani throughout the pandemic starting April 2020.

#ASSAMCABINET UPDATE - IMPORTANT THREAD

The new Cabinet held its first meeting today (May 11, 2021) & resolved to fulfill the promises made to our people.

We have taken our first steps in this journey with the following decisions 👇
1. To contain #Covid cases, more restrictions & containment measures would be put in place from May 13, 2021. Detailed SOP will be issued on Wednesday. In case restrictions have to continue for more than a fortnight, Govt will consider financial relief package for weaker sections
2. As promised during elections, the Cabinet decided to give employment to 1 lakh educated unemployed youths of the state in posts considered essential to improve public service delivery. A Committee is being constituted under Finance Minister to work out the modalities.
