Musk said to advertisers that Twitter will be “adhering to the laws of the land”. Which means adhering to laws of authoritarian countries , good for 37% of the world population. #TwitterTakeover#Twitter#Musk#musktwitter (2/3)
Musk said he bought @Twitter to change the world. His statement yesterday about respecting local laws troubles me. Till now, people can critique royals in Thailand, mock the Turkish government or bash the president of Uganda on #twitter#TwitterTakeover#Musk#musktwitter (3/4)
Tweets by courageous people in authoritarian countries often lead to jail time for them. I genuinely hope that @elonmusk statement to adhere to local laws doesn’t mean that these tweets are censored in advance (4/4) #twitter#musk#twittertakeover

Missing some Tweet in this thread? You can try to
force a refresh
After @elonmusk bought @Twitter, I checked out what employees posted on LinkedIn. It contains also some material that has not yet been published. See you in the next few tweets. (1/...)
I'll start with the Program Manager - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility Faith Saenz. She writes "The way Elon works shows me that if he owns Twitter it will be very different. It will change things. And that makes me deeply sad. Deeply." (2/...)
"Here at Twitter, we don't force our Tweeps to come into an office under florescent lighting with a tie on and work until the sun goes down. (...) It makes us human. Elon has made himself clear publicly time and again that he is more of a bad lighting and tie guy." (3/...)
The verified Twitter account of the opera in Oviedo, operaoviedo.com is used as bait for people to think that @elonmusk is promoting a bitcoin scheme. The next few tweets: what happened and why am I sure? (1/...)
If you go to the official website of the opera in Oviedo, it will show you a link to their official Twitter account. As you can see, that account is verified by @twitterblue . But somebody took over that account and changed the name into Elon Musk (2/...) - see picture below.
Also the picture that @elonmusk uses, is inserted into @operaoviedo. Suddenly it looks like that there are two official Elon Musk accounts, for the untrained eye. The Verified Account sign is the same, the name too, but not the account name, see below (3/....)
"Although @Twitter is a global company with a global mission it is not currently set up to deliver globally on trust and safety", says whistleblower @dotMudge, former head of security. Twitter asked him to spell out his concerns with the company's security washingtonpost.com/technology/int…
Of the approximately 500,000 servers in #Twitter data centers, ~60% of them are running
outdated Operating Systems and, therefore, are non-compliant even with Twitter's own
Engineering standards. (2/....)
"Twitter is grossly negligent in several areas of information security.
If these problems are not corrected, regulators, media, and users of the platform (....) (...) will lose confidence in Twitter and this will have real world impact to the platform and to the company." (3/..)
Face-to-face communication is my preference. So what is the procedure for enlarging a profile picture? It's all about staring at the link first. Here is a short manual (1/...)
Check gomore.imgix.net/uploads/user/a… - me heading to New York. I want to enlarge the picture. How? You can find the answer in the link. The original picture (1) is not shown at all, the format is compressed (2) and cropped (3) to a height and width of 192*192 (4) pixels. (2/...)
So how do we get rid of all that crop? Often it works to remove everything after .jpg. Try it here gomore.imgix.net/uploads/user/a… - > my big head in full glory. The only thing I did was removing everything after the ? There are other methods too (3/...)
It seems @DuckDuckGo really sold out, here are their own words: help.duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-hel… "For ads from Microsoft, you also pass through Microsoft Advertising’s platform." Removed @duckduckgo from my #osint curriculum as a search engine that has no tracking. (3/3)
The just published xinjiangpolicefiles.org reveal "unprecedented evidence from internal police networks in China’s Xinjiang region proves prison-like nature of re-education camps, shows top Chinese leaders’ direct involvement in the mass internment campaign." (1/3)
Although disturbing, this tweet about the leak can give the wrong context. I compared the original files with this tweet, see below
But besides that, never saw such rich data about how the police works in Xinjiang . Including over 20 PowerPoints of "police training" xinjiangpolicefiles.org/powerpoints/ (3/3)
