Both the CSP and HCPC have released statements regarding fee increase causing some chat on #twitter

In terms of real numbers this may mean
HCPC moving to a fee of over £215 and CSP to £421
So around £45 a month to come to work 2/

Some employers can have schemes via HR and finance, that aid in bearing the cost of the fees too, helping spread them out, like @CHCPHull and their #flextra options, so its worth checking the small print and emailing your relevant teams #savings 4/
Is membership mandated to #csp? Usually CSP membership is not mandated. Membership to the #HCPC is, & for #NHS workers and you need PIL cover, which your employer may well cover, however there are different levels and variances, so you need to check closely and bear in mind 5/

Regarding PIL cover, there are other options available to you for cover not with the CSP #uptoyou
These are:
gmb.org.uk/unionline which is a trade union and will offer support as well as insurance.
Another option for PIL cover would be balens.co.uk

In terms of CSP membership I am in no way advising, or suggesting you should not be a member of our primary governing body, and I have been reassured by the CSP that they have plans and action forthcoming to engage with members more about the things that matter #CSP 9/
The CSP offer more than PIL and resources and it is down to you as an individual whether you feel that warrants membership and many on here are working hard to highlight the gaps some feel are present to members and I for one am looking forward to seeing those being actioned 10/
Costs are real, and hitting everyone hard. Decisions should be made for all aspects of budget, so speak to your manager, operations lead, HR, CSP rep to get as much info as you can. BUT, be aware there are options for you and findings those answers requires some ground work. /End
