Without accepting someone as a guru, can we gain spiritual enlightenment simply by reading scriptures or listening to lectures? #Spirituality #enlightenment
Sant Namadev, a great saint of Maharashtra, used to have a direct contact with God (Vitthala). God spoke with him face to face. But one day, he was deeply disappointed. #Spirituality #Enlightened
At the behest of Jnaneshwara, Gora Kumbhar, a potter and a senior saint of his times, tested the maturity of knowledge in a bunch of holy men including Namadev. He tapped their heads like a potter taps a baked clay pot to see if it’s fully done. #Spirituality #enlightenment
He declared that while the rest of them were ‘fully baked’ Namadev was ‘half-baked.’ Feeling insulted by this Namadev rushed to God Vitthal & asked the reason for being so admonished. To his surprise the God said that Namadev was indeed half baked because he had no loving Guru.
Namadev asked God for his Guru, searched & became a disciple of Visoba Khechar.
Now, why would someone who was already speaking with God, need a living Guru? My Guru Sri Sitaramdas Omkarnath answers this question in Jai Jai Ram Krishna Hari, a classic drama he wrote on Namdev.
He says while having vision of God (Ishta Darshan) is indeed a great accomplishment & fulfilment of a seeker’s life, its not the pinnacle of achievement. Even after being able to see God or receive His commands, there’s still a higher state to be achieved. #Spirituality
Its only when one sees God (Ishta) in the entire world, in everything that there is, that the journey is concluded. And this universal, sarvabhuta/ yatra tatra sarvatra vision of God which is His true nature is revealed only with the Guru's grace. #Spirituality #enlightenment
person once asked Swami Chinmayananda “Do I need a Guru? Why cannot I learn everything from a book?”
Scriptures indeed guide& show us the way, but for their words to commune with our souls we need a Guru's grace. No point arguing that reading scriptures could fulfil the need of a living Guru because scriptures repeatedly emphasise that a living Guru is a must. #Spirituality
No wonder Arjuna says to Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita (2:7) शिष्यस्तेऽहं शाधि मां त्वां प्रपन्नम् śhiṣhyaste ’haṁ śhādhi māṁ tvāṁ prapannam. I am your disciple, and am surrendered to you. Please instruct me for certain what is best for me.
Also because He is the destroyer of the devatas, as per a Smrti shloka quoted by Svaami Vijayeendra Teertha Shripaadagalu, in Shaiva-Sarvasva Khandanam of Nyaayamauktikamaala.

Being the destroyer who destroys Brahmaa, Indra, Rudra, Yama & Varuna, he is known as ‘Hari’.
Shukracharya: A great knowledgeable person who was respected even by Devas and Saints. He was an expert in Political Science. He founded the Shukra Niti. In his niti he has laid down the following points:
#SanatanaDharma #hinduism https://t.co/syF74bOq87twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
One should never reveal certain things in front of others.
It’s great if you are loved and respected by all, but don’t show it off in front of others- doing so will lower your respect in the eyes of others
#SanatanaDharma #hinduism https://t.co/2pRf0avyqJtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
If you have to face insult at any point in your life, it’s best to keep it to yourself; telling that to everyone you know will make you feel insulted in front of others as well.

Tantra is an abstract religion, it doesn't have a clear definition. Different seekers define it differently, many not even consistent with each other. Tantra, though, is clearly recognized as being very different from the ancient Hindu Vedic tradition. #SanatanaDharma#Hinduismtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Before trying to delve into tantrism, it is important to understand that this is not a single coherent system. It is rather a tradition that gradually evolved from an accumulation of practices and rituals, in order to attain the grace of the divine. #SanatanaDharma#Hinduismtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
The practitioner of tantra uses his own prana or divine energy in order to harness it to the universal prana, thereby attaining his goal. The goal in question could be either spiritual, material or both. #SanatanaDharma#Hinduismtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Tantra in Hinduism could be considered to be parallel to the Hindu Vedic tradition. Tantra contains written records of the Agama, which comes in four main parts, as follows: #SanatanaDharma#Hinduismtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Jnana or metaphysical knowledge
Yoga or meditative practices
Kriya or ritual practices
Charya or ethical and religious principles of conduct #SanatanaDharma#Hinduism
Most of the staunch Hindu Vedic practitioners, however, consider the Tantras to be anti-Vedic in character and hence, altogether shun both the cult and the practitioners of the same. #SanatanaDharma#Hinduismtwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
The universe consists of a Mahabrahmanda, or grand Cosmos, and of numerous Brihatbrahmanda, or macrocosms evolved from it. As is said by the Nirvana Tantra, all which is in the first is in the second. #spirituality#Cosmostwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
In the latter are heavenly bodies and beings, which are microcosms reflecting on a minor scale the greater worlds which evolve them. "As above, so below." This mystical maxim of the West is stated in the Vishvasara Tantra as follows: #spirituality#Cosmostwitter.com/i/web/status/1…
