“India’s intellectual class is anti-India”- remark by @sbabones at an event has become the most talked about topic in India, sparking debate. Sensing this as an opportunity, some media houses & individuals incensed by the remark started targeting him.

The remark in question was swiftly picked up by some known media outlets, who encashed on this opportunity. #ThePrint was the first to use it as a 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐭 story, setting a premise for coverage by other media outlets.

Triggered portals like 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐲 were then quick to follow suit & channeled their dissatisfaction, labeling him a right-wing foreign agent, and calling him out for being a critic of #intellectuals.

Unsurprisingly, 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐲 was one of the media outlets that whitewashed the fake foreign expert & #Khalistani stooge, 𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 by deliberately ignoring real facts as a part of its journalistic practice.

But the trigger seemed to be manifested beyond the borders; by representative of #antiindian voices on foreign soil, self-proclaimed expert & historian on South Asia, 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐤𝐞. Riled by Babones' remarks, she piled up on criticisms against him.

Speaking in the language of hypocrisy, #Truschke highlighted his background as a foreign agent, slamming him for speaking in the interest of India, who worked with the US Federal govt grants.

Her husband Thane Rehn & father-in-law Nathan Rehn were carrying out illegal conversion activities in India through their #missionary. But when the FCRA rules were tightened, her Christian missionary conversion family business was marred. So did her anti-India tirade begun!
