Russia is continuing its hostile psychological-information activities against Poland, conducted within infowar waged against Ukraine. In particular, Russian #propaganda keeps building and widely spreading a false picture of Poland as “a warmonger.”

Kremlin is infesting the information environments throughout world with a lie about a massive, state-sanctioned participation of the PL mercenaries in the war in UA. Belarusian propaganda underpins this effort by falsely implying that PL has aggressive plans against BY and UA.

The Russian & Belarusian propaganda narratives combined give only a negative picture of #Poland. This way both regimes seek to permanently destroy the reputation of PL of a reliable partner and, ultimately, to make it harder for Warsaw to pursue its goals in the int’l arena.

The destabilization of PL-UA relations remains a priority goal of Russia’s information warfare offensive against Poland. Given a high number of #refugees from UA still remaining in PL and the lasting Russian war in Ukraine, the Kremlin’s propaganda has stepped up said efforts.

Russians have been exploiting an incident in a Polish village of Przewodów where in mid-Nov., while Russia was massively shelling UA, a stray Ukrainian anti-air missile crashed, killing two Poles, to push conspiracy theories that smear #NATO and accuse Ukraine of an attack on PL.

Similarly, a recent explosion of a car with Ukrainian plates in the city of Wrocław in South-West Poland was immediately used by Russian propaganda to highlight the “typical risks” stemming from helping Ukrainian refugees.

Then there was an instant attempt by RUS propaganda to manipulate what the PL PM @MorawieckiM said about the possibility to hand over to Ukraine “the Polish Patriot air defence missile system”. Russians falsely imply that PL is reluctant to do so.

The current Russian information warfare efforts, whose masterminds are predominantly the Russian special services, are targeted against different aspects of cooperation between Poland in Ukraine, in a bid to pit both countries and nations against each other.

We also identify a permanent effort by UNC1151 (an actor tied to Russian special services) to meddle with the political situation in PL. Within this operation, a smear campaign against some PL top officials is underway, but real target is the reliability of state institutions.

In the Polish information sphere there are also psychological-information activities aimed to sow panic and chaos in our society. They rely on promoting and amplifying only negative information about the economic situation in PL and presenting it as a representative sample.

Besides, we report information activities that have all the hallmarks of speculating about the data officially communicated by the PL gov’t and state institutions and questioning the PL Armed Forces’ ability to guarantee security to Poles.
