A while back I tried to get MidJourney to produce some nice Chinese Watercolour / Ink, Wall Scroll style paintings, in v3.

The original results were a bit wishy-washy as I was a noob...

But recently @midjourney_ai made it possible to do 2:3 and 3:2 aspect ratios in v4, and I decided to re-visit the concept with v4.

It started out promising with almost exactly the same prompt and reference image. This time with a little --chaos added

I was really excited and immediately tried to get a Crane in a couple of styles. The feet end up a little wonky, but that's easily fixable in post. Damn... quite impressive, v4

It seemed to struggle a lot with "9 fishes and Lotus", merging fish, putting fish over lily pads, and giving them alien eyes! It rarely produced "9" fish.

I tried to get a nice waterfall painting, too, which it seems to really heavily prefer one contemporary style, and often looked like a Photo-of-a-painting;

I then tried something not very traditional; A lone wolf in the mountains;

and finally, I wanted to make a nice Tiger Silk Painting in the Snow. I had trouble getting the pose I wanted at first...

But after some tweaks to "backside view walking away", it came up better. And someone taught me this negative parameter; --no watermark logo text border frame signature
