7 years ago Hadley says the Guardian became a conspiracy theorist.
Gender identity was the theory.
Hadley wanted to write a long piece about Susy Green and #Metmaids and the reasons kept changing.
Post Telegraph’s expose they refused to report.
@Emmabarnett pointed out that the Charity Commission is investigating #Mermaids. @HadleyFreeman said she wished to write about #AlisonBailey, @MForstater cases etc.
They ran lots of articles on Trans people, but nothing about Trans sceptical women.
@HJoyceGender and @Docstockk books not reviewed.
H says there is one-sided.
Observer allowed not the Guardian.
Kath Viner was editor invited on but didn’t take it up.
The Guardian says they edited did not censor cos it is polarising.
@HadleyFreeman said upper management told her - you are not allowed to write about gender, no women can cos it will make things flare up.
Hadley had written about men using gender issues to shut down women.
Two years ago shut things down even not to interview Navratilova
Told Navratilova and she had a mean viewpoint.
A group called all about trans had held Hadley’s articles up as transphobic, her editors refused to stand up to this or inform her - she found out post facto.
Guardian editorial published saying GRA should not make it easier to self ID, heated discussion on meeting. Nobody stepped in when she defended the editorial.
It’s not just the guardian. There is much fear, NYT, Washington Post, Jenni Murray on Womans hour, Stonewall threatened…
Not to come in if journalist Helen Lewis was present.
On the Left there is a real feeling of fear. Stonewall implies that any person questioning gender rights is a homophobe.
Imagine for a moment that you’re an ordinary Russian.
You suddenly discovered that you can’t go on Twitter and Facebook.
Your government says it’s fighting fascists in #Ukraine, but nobody is allowed to call it a war; yet there are captured UA soldiers they call prisoners of war.
Imagine you’re a Russian. Your friends in #Ukraine called you to tell you the Russian army invaded.
Perhaps your neighbour’s son rang to say that he’s been taken prisoner and that his CO pretended they were on exercizes and then told him to gun down families.
You can’t fly to EU
Imagine you are Russian.
You can’t buy your favourite perfumes and all of a sudden there are no iPhones available.
Your credit card stops working.
You can’t get hold of foreign papers and your favourite tv station is blocked.
The President goes on telly to harangue his military.
There is a daft idea going around beloved of antisemites that Israel is an Apartheid State.
Let’s look at this on a factual basis.
Here you have a beach in Apartheid South Africa. These signs are typical.
Apartheid separated people by race.
Thread👇🏼1/14
Of course this doesn’t happen in israel because it’s not an Apartheid State. Nobody bans Arabs from the beach, they’re citizens.
Israel is quite content even to have burkini clad women on the beaches.
These are normal Israeli scenes. 2/14
Let’s look elsewhere. Perhaps there are limits or quotas on who is able to be a doctor, who can treat whom, if Israel really is an apartheid state. That’s what Russia did to Jews. What Iran does.
Quotas.
Here in South Africa there were Black only clinics and hospitals. 3/14
The weird argument over #womenrabbis in Orthodoxy, particularly @LSJS_Hendon.
They knew Lindsey T-G was studying for three years. If yeshivat Maharat were treif, they couldn’t have allowed her to continue to teach.
She taught there!
They knew she was learning to be a rabba…

If that course of study were prohibited, they should have sacked her there and then. They didn’t.
This 👆🏼 indicates that studying at Yeshivat Maharat for the rabbinate is not prohibited.
They sacked Lindsey TG for passing semicha exam.
They disagree only w the qualification.

Yet they have their own qualifications themselves, for women.
Are they saying that they disagree w the Hashkafa (outlook) of Yeshivat Maharat?
Or the title?
Is it the status?
If a learned woman can pasken on one aspect of halacha, which aspect can she •not•?
Originally this day coincided w Independence Day (tomorrow) but the bereaved families wanted to separate the mourning from the joy of freedom.
11am a siren stops all traffic for 2 minutes silence.

Independence only came about through great sacrifice; the approximately 4,000 military dead of the 1948 war were a huge sacrifice. That war is given less prominence than more recent conflicts.
I was lucky know Maurice Mann, who flew in the early IAF. 3/4
