The war has greatly changed everything. First of all, we are already on the fourth iteration of Ukraine`s judicial reform. Some parts of it were successful, like the Anti-Corruption Court, but the rest has been less so. 2/13

This is mostly because earlier judicial self-governance, which exists in other European countries, was introduced. This is a good recipe for preserving the system’s ability to preserve itself, but a bad one when the system needs to be changed. 3/13

From the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the US has been Ukraine’s key donor. Its contributions have gone far beyond even the combined support of all EU member states and EU institutions, especially in the provision of military aid. 2/14

The situation changed after the Council of the EU reached an agreement on December 10, 2022 to provide Ukraine with EUR 18 billion during 2023, a decision initially put in jeopardy by a Hungarian veto. 3/14
