@TheSimpsons was about ninety percent garbage, if not more, and it's done at least as much damage to society as @SouthPark.

remember, for example, that @elonmusk planted publicity for himself in "The Simpsons".

that isn't an accident. that's been routine business for @TheSimpsons for almost the entire length of the show's existence: it's been a vehicle for celebrity guest stars to give themselves some "satirical" self-promotion.

eventually this would dominate the show's plots.

that would become a *social function* of @TheSimpsons: laundered, carefully scripted *self-deprecation*—"satire" so tame and bloodless and corporate that it was really just another form of advertising. a perfect vehicle for @elonmusk to spread his #ElonMusk "mind virus".

that is *viral #marketing*. if @elonmusk or one of his lackeys like @bariweiss or @mtaibbi ever start blithering about "mind viruses" again, know that they're simply referring to the common practice of viral marketing. as usual, they pretend that only "liberals" do it.

but @elonmusk himself used viral marketing, like product placement of @Tesla (and his "personal brand") into films and TV shows like @TheSimpsons, to infiltrate the public consciousness—planting the false idea that this inept, imitative, elitist man-child was a "genius".

@TheSimpsons was fertile ground for incubating such "mind viruses"; before long it was but one long parade of celebrities and references to contemporary pop culture.

this is one reason "The Simpsons" continues to exist, even though it ceased being funny ages and ages ago.

it's a vector for #marketing and #promotion. @TheSimpsons might as well be an animated advertising billboard, beamed into hundreds of millions of homes.

"The Simpsons" helped inflict @elonmusk's noisome and damaging career as a celebrity #entrepreneur onto the world.

@SpaceX satellites pollute the skies of Earth, partly because @elonmusk planted his viral #marketing into @TheSimpsons—and the @Disney / @Marvel franchise and "The Big Bang Theory" I think, and other things.

this is the power of marketing: it enables *villainry*.
