Dominant win for Newcastle at Leicester (who lacked bite). #NUFC move up to second and make it six-straight Premier League victories. Miguel Almiron has nine goals in 16 Premier League games. He needed 110 matches to score nine before this season. But everyone is contributing...
Chris Wood scored in the absence of the ill Callum Wilson, Kieran Trippier got the assist for Joelinton's header. Bruno got an assist and bossed the midfield. And Sven Botman was outstanding (his default state since joining).
Away at #LCFC post break, and after beating #CFC at home, was key to continuing momentum. Newcastle killed off game early and looked like a top-four side. #NUFC have Leeds left this year and are unbeaten in three months. And #AFC on January 3 is a chance to make a real statement.
As for Leicester, they'll be desperate to get James Maddison fit. Club aren't ruling out persuading him to sign a new deal and against a mid-season sale. #LCFC also one of several EPL clubs looking at Bristol City's Alex Scott, a player who could very possibly move in January.

Moisés Caicedo to Chelsea is one to watch. There is a real sense, from multiple sources, #CFC may move. Graham Potter when still at Brighton joked £42m would only "get his boots". #BHAFC want around £70-£75m.
Brighton aren't going to entertain any cut-price sale. They'll inflate the price and knowing Chelsea paid
an above-market-value fee (£62m) for Marc Cucurella only strengthens their position. Brighton don't need to sell in January either. #CFC weighing up an approach as a result.
Caicedo's agent situation is complicated. This presents problems when doing a deal. #LFC explored Caicedo when at Independiente del Valle. They saw value (Brighton ended up paying just £4.5m) but a move came with all kinds of other costs and multiple agents claimed a cut.
Chelsea are seriously exploring Enzo Fernandez, but Benfica really don't want to sell mid-season, especially with #UCL football. Paying the €120m release clause is the simplest approach but #CFC would rather offer more (as with Nkunku) and define preferable payment terms.
Told Fernandez not desperate to exit in January. Benfica calm about situation. Suitors, seeing them as somewhat of a 'selling club', will be trying to convince them it's optimal time to cash in post World Cup. Benfica could make €5m for every game (24) he's played since joining.
Unless the release clause is met, resulting in a huge outlay upfront, Benfica can control the situation, especially knowing Fernandez may well prefer a summer move. That's why #CFC are basically doing due diligence for now.
Challenge for all João Félix suitors is he's being offered on straight loan with no option to buy. That means an outlay of £8m (fee) and £5.3m (net salary). Felix offered to #AFC, #CFC, #MUFC, #NUFC and Villa. But a 'give' is needed by Atleti to make a loan more appealing.
An option to buy is the most obvious clause, but suitors may try for an obligation at a lower number. Atleti maintain there will be no cut-price deal. They want £85m+. Interesting to see if clubs feel buying is better value than a straight loan or can sweeten the terms.
Jorge Mendes is taking a pretty similar approach to Ronaldo by pitching Felix to several clubs. Premier League is thought to be his most likely destination currently. But he's been mentioned to Juventus, Milan and PSG, too.
Arsenal's opening offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk is short of Shakhtar's expectations. Told it's more of a marker than a bid they expect to get accepted. High confidence a deal will be done, but all about structure. #AFC bid €40m + €25m in add ons. Shakhtar want a higher base fee.
The public valuation of €100m won't be met by #AFC. Told Shakhtar are hoping for €50-55m plus add ons. #AFC don't want to go above €70m with all aspects of the deal met.
Sporting director Darijo Srna told me anyone who bids for Mudryk must "respect" Shakhtar and pay "a lot, a lot, a lot" of money. Shakhtar are notoriously tough negotiators.
🚨 Lionel Messi will not return to PSG training until early January. PSG will begin talks on a new deal then. The club’s preference is to table a new 1+1 deal rather than activating the existing one-year extension.
PSG deny they have held any meaningful talks with Messi on his future. Nasser Al-Khelaifi did visit him at training during the World Cup, but only a brief conversation was had to wish him well.
PSG have always been confident of a renewal. Khelaifi described the situation as “positive” during the World Cup. This is because Messi is happy and settled in Paris.
Behdad Eghbali tells @Sportico Chelsea was "not terribly well managed on the football, sporting or promotional side" under Roman Abramovich. As previously reported, new owners were surprised by the lack of data they inherited and the 'disconnected' internal structure of the club.
Eghbali was always going to be hands on and will be key in January. Although not carrying a defined football title like Todd Boehly, he's firmly across budget, negotiations and partnerships and is leading on multi-model decisions from an investment perspective.
#CFC always thinking global. They want a multi-club model with Eghbali confirming France, as reported, is a priority region. "French market is interesting given the quality of the league... [&] French speakers in Africa. Africa is also a big, big market."
