Arsenal's opening offer for Mykhaylo Mudryk is short of Shakhtar's expectations. Told it's more of a marker than a bid they expect to get accepted. High confidence a deal will be done, but all about structure. #AFC bid €40m + €25m in add ons. Shakhtar want a higher base fee. 
The public valuation of €100m won't be met by #AFC. Told Shakhtar are hoping for €50-55m plus add ons. #AFC don't want to go above €70m with all aspects of the deal met.
Sporting director Darijo Srna told me anyone who bids for Mudryk must "respect" Shakhtar and pay "a lot, a lot, a lot" of money. Shakhtar are notoriously tough negotiators.

#AFC are prioritising getting Mudryk done. Joao Felix loan has been offered, too, but wage demands are very high. This, coupled with Felix's loan fee, make Mudryk better value. Felix would earn €6m-net and Atletico want 100% of his wage paid. Mudryk would earn around €4m less.
#AFC's bid shows they're serious, especially when #EFC tabled only €30m four months ago. Mudryk wants to join. Told me "I can't say no to Arsenal" but club-to-club negotiations won't be a formality. Mudryk not the type of character to force a move. Very respectful of Shakhtar.
The other thing to add on Felix, which may put off #AFC and #MUFC, is there is no option to buy on any loan. That means a big loan fee, coupled with a huge wage, and no ability to purchase at the end of it. Trying to buy outright actually better long-term value than any loan.
