#ShankarMishra incident has bought an important issue into the open - super entitled Indians behaving like arseholes on airplanes!

Have tweeted on this even before. But will quickly recap some incidents from the past.

Is it the first time that someone has peed or worse on an Indian airline?

Not quite!

Indian passengers already have a notorious reputation for bad behavior.

Attendants of many South East Asian airlines don't want to bid to operate to India classifying them as "hardship Flights".

First reaction to the #ShankarMishra incident was to blame #AirIndia crew.

Indian carriers did not act proactively because the laws expected Victims to report the complaint on Landing! Would you report?

Would it have gone any differently if it had happened on Jet or Indigo?

Regardless of the airline - first instinct of the crew will be to stabilize the situation. Crew do not bring out the handcuffs and scotch tape!

Further action will be taken only the other passengers report the incident to the police/AirSewa on Landing.

The first - this one hit wonder from the 90s, created a HUGE scene at checkin counter at BOM.

Reason - she wanted her companion to be upgraded to First Class for FREE!

A B-grade actress who is now perma banned from Twitter was creating a scene at the #JetAirways checkin counter holding back all of us!

Why? She arrived "only" 20 minutes after scheduled departure and Muslim guy at the counter would not give her a free upgrade on next flight! 🙄

While all of us stood impatiently in the line, She proceeded to scream obscenities and hate speech even as her hen pecked domestic partner stood watching embarassed by the whole thing!

PS: She got the upgrade she wanted!

There were 3 of us in the Business Class cabin of an early 5am #JetAirways flight on BLR-BOM sector - A retd Govt employee in his 60s, yours truly and this Coked up "1 hit wonder" son of a 70s star!

Flight was actually held back after boarding so studboy could make the flight!

He came rushing in, looking groggy from his late night partying. He was wearing Trackpants and T-shirt which looked slept in!

He skipped breakfast entirely, opting instead to have a dozen glasses of water and orange juice.

Working over a hangover? 😏

Aircraft was well into its descent, when studboy retrieves a bag from the overhead locker and proceeds to change into a Dress Shirt and Pants. Right there in the cabin in front of us!

Granted there were only 2 others in the Cabin but STILL! 😅

The aircraft was well into its descent and everyone was strapped in. The crew knew what was happening but did nothing!

I saw the galley curtains separate briefly and then hurriedly close again as Studboy was pulling on his pants!

The crew definitely knew! And did NOTHING!

There is this other cutlet. No one knows what he does. We see him on TimesNow panels and he has been in movies playing the heroine's dad. Also #MeToo accused!😏

We have seen this ungle proposition Female AND Male passengers and crew!

Definitely not appropriate! Or consensual!

One of the #JetAirways crew he misbehaved with went on to become a TV star who later came in Bigg boss show. Another was a former model who has also appeared on the reality show.

If you were even slightly attractive, male or female, this disgusting uncle will hit on you! 🤮

Then there was this "actress" - I use the term loosely. Somehow our Kundlis are linked because we have been on the same flight at least a dozen times!

Her thang was to talk on her phone LOUDLY about Real estate investments in NCR even when plane was turning into the runway!

First off, phones are meant to switched off at take off. Secondly, should you be talking so loudly about your illegal investments in NCR region? Aren't you worried about Tax people finding out?

What does your Canadian husband have to say about that? SERIOUSLY!

Her mother is another piece of work! She was one of the sexiest heroines of 70s and 80s!

But my memories of her are of a woman with badly calloused bare feet hanging in the aisle, chewing everyone's ear about... Making Candles!

CANDLE MAKING? When did that become a thing?

Another 80s superstar with an angelic face was a regular commute on the same #JetAirways flight.

Her thing was to smuggle shots of whisky onboard in a small Dettol bottle! 😅

She NEVER had dinner on this 2330 hours flight. Helpful crew bought her papad from dinner service! 😋

I must add that this particular actress never once created a scene or anything! Just quietly took sips from her glass with Papad for chakna.

I can't be sure, but I am guessing Army/Air force kid.

Us Cantonment kids know how to hold our liquor! 🙏

One one flight, there was this guy who was seated in the Business class cabin in full #JetAirways uniform. Looked like a dead heading crew member.

Didn't know it at the time but found out later that he is a BJP politician son!

Just before descent, a lady pilot came out of the cockpit and this guy went into the front galley area and curtains were pulled.

What followed was a LOUD lovers tiff between the 2 that everybody on the plane heard!

The embarassed cabin crew did nothing! What could they do?

Have to make dinner before my Jatt throws a hissy fit!

Ok I am back!

Somebody sent me a YouTube link of @bdutt show on #ShankarMishra.

As expected, a complete hatchet job that COMPLETELY misses the point!

Barkha rani jamke barsi but in the wrong place! As usual! 🙄

Issue here is Indians behaving like privileged arseholes when they get on a plane. #ShankarMishra episode is NOT the only time it happened. This happens on average once/week across ALL carriers.

Debate being sidetracked because @airindiain is more collectible than the culprit!

Victim chose not to file charges and tried to negotiate compensation with both #AirIndia and culprit #ShankarMishra after incident.

It has now hit news cycles because negotiations failed.

Attacking @airindiain is ploy to divert attention from culprit and to get compensation!

The #AirIndia crew did what they were supposed to. They filed the internal flight memo on the incident. The J cabin was full so jump seat was offered. Victim was offered advise to file complaint after landing.

And yet @airindiain crew are being systematically targeted! 😞

Contrary to clueless hatchet jobs like the one @bdutt did, suo moto action has NEVER been taken in these matters!

We have one incident like this every week in India on EVERY airline! Can Barkha rani tell us in How many cases has suo moto action been taken?

DGCA rules have been changed NOW and future incidents might see the required action! MIGHT!

But should #AirIndia crew be penalised because they followed the rules as they existed at the time of the #ShankarMishra episode?

THINK people THINK! 🙄

Let's not be sidetracked by the targeted attacks on @airindiain only because they are deemed to be more collectible!

#ShankarMishra should be arrested. His pension fund should be attached and used to pay compensation to the victim. There is legal precedence for this action.

Make an example out of #ShankarMishra so that next time an Upper Caste Indian dudebro gets on a plane, he will think 10xtimes before molesting cabin crew or co-passengers or behaving like a privileged arsehole!

Don't let him get away! Make an example out of him!
