Want to get started in DIY electronics? This is the thread for you:

Robin Mitchell, Electromaker's resident Engineer and Educator, has compiled a list of everything you need to get going, all for under $100. Let's take a look!

Wire strippers. You'll be stripping lots of wire, and it's a pain without the proper tools. Something like this is perfect for getting started…

There are so many super low cost soldering stations available now, and this self regulating one comes with a bunch of accessories:

Here's the first curveball: A Raspberry PI Pico. Not just good for projects! They can act as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters and are so much cheaper than any of them!

Wondering how a @raspberry_pi Pico multimeter might work? Here's a tutorial on how to make one with a browser-based dashboard. The perfect project to kickstart your #makerspace!

Breadboards! You'll use them at the start of almost every project. This half-size one saves a little desk space but retains the power rails some smaller ones are lacking:

The same goes for breadboarding wires! You'll get through hundreds of them, so it's always worth having a bundle to hand:

What about power? Well, there are a few routes, but 9v batteries are always a super simple and useful thing, as they regulate down to 5v nicely:

The same goes for AA battery holders. Rechargeable AAs are amazing things to have to hand when starting a project:

That said, it's hard to beat the practicality of a breadboard PSU. Sit it on the end of the breadboard, and suddenly you have 3.3 or 5v always to hand:

What about inputs? Well, @seeedstudio Grove modules are solderless, and the button module avoids some of the issues faced with attaching buttons to breadboards:

Potentiometers are also an essential input method, and learning how they work is an electronics fundamental!

The full article and video covers a bunch of useful @seeedstudio Grove sensors, including light, touch, sound and temperature, but that's barely scratching the surface!
