#MAGAanalysis The Rules Package

Can you say "getting into the weeds?" I don't imagine too many will care, but for some strange reason I've decided I want to know about the Rules Package. So, here's the best version of the current package I've yet found.

2) The PDF above is the one they call "The 55 Pages."

So, knowing I do not know this language, I decide to just start reading and here's a screenshot of the first thing I find.

3) Who knew? Who had any idea? the 118th Congress begins its own rules by adopting the rules from the 117th Congress. I'd never have imagined. Okay, a bit of searching - it does NOT pop right up - and, I found this:

4) In order to be sure I've got, if not the right documents, at least those I can do something with, we need the second thing I read in the 118th Rules:

5) Here it gets a bit tricky. The 117th Rules are published in what I imagine to be a finished format, whereas the 118th Rules I've got are currently unfinished, I think. So finding Section XXI Clause 10 isn't so easy, but I did. Huzzah!

6) When I was 16, I contacted my Congressman's office, and asked how one becomes a Congressional Page? I of course had no idea that the biggest donors' kids of course get the job. My parents never donated a dollar.

7) My Congressman's office, of course, couldn't tell me how things really work. So, they guided me to write a letter explaining why I should be chosen. I worked my fool teenaged butt off on that futile letter, only to never hear anything back.

8) I share because I can see these staffers with printed out copies of this stuff, working with both hard copy and computer to come up with these new definitions of things, in legal terms.

9) I suspect that this will be too boring, even for me to pursue much further. Maybe. Maybe not. We'll see. I don't know about you, but I'm at least happy that these things can be found online. Sure, there has to be a better way.

10) But still, in a patriotic nerdy kind of way, you have to admit it's a bit cool to know you can find all this, and even decipher it...if you want to. If you can get past the boredom and do the detailed, painstaking, verbal work.
