Part 1 💚
The sun rose red over the sharp mountains giving the illusion of blood soaking into the craggy rocks. Though the Eastern Continent was not a desolate or unforgiving place, it had its edges, its seedy undergrounds and rumor mills.
But if you looked a little closer, this land held beauty like no other. Rolling hills dotted with wildflowers in shades of pink and yellow reaching toward the shining teal sea at the western border.
Forests teeming with life and energy where Springs were filled with bird songs, the buzzing of busy bees and trickling streams; where Autumns came with the pleasant crunch of vibrant leaves and scents of rich sap to be processed into thick syrups;
where Winters brought a silence more peaceful than eerie. And across it all were the people of this land, separated into principalities, yielding to a king in the North who united their communities.
Magnificent cities of stone and bustling streets to tiny provincial towns with fertile ground as far as the eye could see.
The shine of morning light through the barely parted curtains caused a stir from the cocoon of linens and pillows, the Sun’s early rays illuminating a tangled mess of mossy curls.
With a groan at the knock on his chamber door, Prince Izuku stuffed his face into the satin covers breathing in his own scent of mint and blackberry honey.
The only son of a glass blower and a seamstress, it really was a wonder that his family had ever reached the level of aristocracy. And as a principality that was seemingly easy to brush off as unimportant, it gave Izuku and his family plenty of opportunities to hide his secret.
Few servants worked in their mansion, even fewer lived among them in the lower quarters. Izuku drew his own baths, insisted on dressing himself, took care of his linens and laundry, and his mother made sure all of their meals were flavored with rich sauces and game meats, all to-
preserve the knowledge that he was an omega. He’d gone this long without anyone of importance being the wiser, and the servants who learned of his secondary gender were either threatened or paid handsomely to keep their tongues firmly in their mouths.
Unable to rule, unable to work, or own or speak freely, it would be a travesty if Izuku’s secret got out.
Especially seeing as he was an only child to parents who had no family to speak of, save for very distant relations who would jump at the chance to claim their land and wealth.
“Young Master,” the servant called, knocking louder. “It is time to rise. Our guests are expected to be arriving in a few hours.”
Emerald eyes peeked toward the double oak doors from under his nest of blankets before pulling his knees beneath him in the child’s pose and letting out a deep sigh. Their guests…the head of the neighboring principality and his sons were traveling to discuss an alliance.
Rumors of unrest in the north, at the palace of the king, had many scrambling to find allies should a war come to fruition.
“I’m up,” Izuku called, voice groggy from terrible sleep. He’d been stressing about this visit for weeks, always anxious about allowing others into their home, having to double his efforts to hide his true nature.
“Very good,” the servant called from the hallway. “Breakfast will be served in the family dining quarters, shall I prepare a plate now or will you be bathing?”
“A bath first,” he groaned, dragging himself out of bed and shivering as the chill of the room licked at the exposed skin of his legs and forearms.

“Of course, Sir.”
Izuku waited until the retreating steps of the servant became faint as they reached the end of the hall. It was then he grabbed his clothes for the day, silken garments meant to drape across the body fashionably, hiding most skin save for the wrists and ankles, the pattern-
a wide zig-zag of red and blue stripes against a cream background. The colors and materials were more fancy than he was used to, but their guests had secured their place in power much longer ago than they, garnering far more wealth than Izuku dared to dream about.
At least it wasn’t the heavy layers like the fashions on the Western Continent with their frilled tunics and ostentatious coats, and not to mention the dresses. Layers upon layers of heavy linens topped with ridiculous bows, chains, pearls, and other trinkets.
Peering into the hallway, Izuku strained his ears for any approaching footsteps. It was always hardest in the mornings to hide his sweet fragrance, having been rolling in his nest for hours.
With no one on the approach, he darted across to the bathing room, the stone floor cold under his toes. The boiler roared to life as he cranked the lever to begin filling the tub and soon, he was sighing, sinking into the heated embrace of his morning bath.
Soaps of cedar and vetiver were scrubbed across his skin, washing away his recognizable omega scent and replacing it with something heavier and more masculine that would settle into a neutral aroma, allowing him to pass as beta.
Though he still took great care to wash the glands at his neck and wrists, scrubbing them two more times than usual due to their guests.
But the most important was washing between his legs, where his scent was strongest, radiating from the glistening lips between his thighs, along with the glands that flanked his small cock that laid above it.
Male omegas were rare, both in the East and West, often subjected to playing the part of trophy more than partner or mate, sometimes even kept as a plaything for the court. Though that was just a rumor. It was just another repulsive reason to be overly cautious.
Fully cleansed, but still anxious, Izuku dried and dressed, listening to the water swirl down the drain as a way to calm and procrastinate. He hoped the meeting and discussions would be swift, that the Todoroki family would only stay as long as needed and no more.
The family dining quarters were much smaller than the room they used for entertaining with a tabled set for three and personal portraits decorating the walls.
The coal heater tinked and sparked as it was newly lit of the day, warming the room with the kind of heat that would become sweltering if one stayed their welcome too long. And the threat of sweating, of washing away the foresty and woodsy scents just made Izuku more anxious.
“Oh, good morning, Dear,” his mother greeted as she entered the room, dressed in silk that hung and tucked attractively across her frame, giving the illusion of a slim waist she had not possessed since before Izuku was born. “I hope you slept well.”
“Not really,” Izuku sighed, poking at the yolk of an egg and following the slow ooze of yellow across his plate.
“Well, I won’t say I haven’t been nervous about this as well,” she told him while tucking her napkin into her lap. “Your father hopes to keep the dealing short and to keep you out of the room as long as possible.”

“Can he not just fill me in once they’ve left?”
“As the prince and future ruler, it would be unbecoming for you to disappear. Lord Enji may also see it as a personal slight. I’ve heard he is quite susceptible to bouts of anger and aggression.” His mother told him before sipping her tea.
“Of course he is,” Izuku scoffed, stuffing a forkful of egg-soaked potatoes into his mouth. “He’s an alpha. One with a long lineage of power and wealth. If he throws a tantrum, he’ll get what he wants.”
“I would advise you to keep those thoughts to yourself, Izuku,” Hisashi ordered, tone clipped as he joined the family at the table. “No words spoken out of turn, no sarcasm or implied slights.”

“Yes, Father,” he nodded. Izuku could feel dark eyes fixed on him.
“You look very handsome,” his father stated with a strained smile. Ah, they were all nervous.

“I thought the silks would be appropriate to please our guests with their refined palettes.”

“Watch your tongue,” Inko reminded him.

“Sorry, Mother.”
“I received word from the outpost that Enji Todoroki and his sons are set to arrive within the hour.” Hisashi breathed out slowly before addressing his son once more. “I will try my best to keep your participation as minimal as possible. There’s been a recent rumor going-
around that your daily bathing is due to infection or an allergy. I will not dispel these claims as they may work to our advantage to keep you out of harm’s way as much as possible.”
“I appreciate that,” Izuku said, tapping his fingers loudly against the table. “But must I sound so sick and undesirable?”

“It is a small discomfort to save you from great tragedy, Dear,” his mother sighed, her smile wavering and emerald eyes swirling with worry.
Izuku returned his eyes to his plate, unwilling to watch his mother strain to hold back the anxiety and worry that vibrated through every cell in her body. Or to see the way his father’s brow pinched with stress.
They were both older, having conceived him at a much later age than most couples. As an Alpha and beta pair, having children took longer than expected, and from the stories Izuku heard growing up, his mother had been so ill while carrying him she nearly-
died bringing him into the world. The added stress of having a male omega for a child ended their hopes for a large family, and though he never said it, Izuku knew his father was disappointed in the life they had created.
One filled with lies and half-truths all to preserve their family and protect their wealth. Izuku felt his stomach turn.

“I will meet you in the drawing room when our guests arrive,” Izuku announced, leaving his meal barely touched. “My appetite has left me.”
With barely more than an acknowledgement of his anxiety, Izuku withdrew from the dining quarters and made his way to the library.
He enjoyed books, especially the way they could transport him to another world, another life where he didn’t have to hide who he was for fear of repercussions.
Currently, he was reading the fantastical account of a knight who rode dragons and possessed powerful magic, but who was kind and decisive, who stood their ground and protected those who could not protect themselves.
More than once, Izuku imagined what it would be like to be that knight, and though he wished he was more proficient in swordplay, it was the magic that had his heart racing and cheeks flushing with excitement.
So immersed was he that it took more than one call of his name from a servant to gain his attention. Their guests were arriving, approaching from the end of the lane down the cobbled road lined with flowering bushes.
Izuku slammed his book shut, tossing it onto the reading table beside the lounging chair. He raced up the stairs to his bed chambers to find a suitable perfume that would mask the slight tendrils of his sweet aroma that was beginning to leak through.
The musky scent of cedar washed over him making his eyes burn. No matter how many times he concealed his scent, it never got easier to drown himself in artificial pheromones.
Wiping his nose on a spare handkerchief, Izuku checked his appearance in the vanity mirror before heading to the drawing room where they would meet their guests.
His mother looked a nervous wreck, fiddling with the many swoops of silk across her abdomen while his father clenched and unclenched his fists while staring out the window.

“Come, come,” Inko waved him over, sniffing approvingly as he sat beside her.
The distant sound of a booming voice sent Izuku’s heart into overdrive, the damn thing pounding in his throat as he squeezed his hands so tightly together his skin turned white.
The approaching footsteps made his stomach flip and when their guests were announced, his mouth went completely dry. There were far more people than he’d anticipated.
“Lord Hisashi, may I present Lord Enji Todoroki and his family,” the servant spoke, waving his hand toward the gaggle of people in the doorway.

“Lord Enji,” his father greeted with a smile firmly in place. “I hope your journey was not too cumbersome.”
“Not at all,” Enji's low baritone rumbled against the open wood door. “It was quite pleasant I must say.”
“Wonderful,” Hisashi nodded, shaking the other alpha lord’s hand with a grip tighter than necessary. Their opposing scents filtered into the room as their eyes locked, silently measuring each other.
It made Izuku uncomfortable, so much so, that he let loose a cough, drawing their attention. “May I present my wife, Ink and son, Izuku.”
“A pleasure to meet you,” Enji said, though his voice did not match his words. Icy blue eyes swept across the pair, lingering far too long on Izuku and when his nostrils flared, the omega nearly passed out from the fear of his secret possibly being revealed.
“A beta wife and child. It is unusual for an alpha such as your standing to not find a desirable omega for a mate,” Enji spoke with a dry tone.+
“Father,” a sharp voice grunted from behind, the tone filled with warning. And when the man pushed his way through, Izuku couldn’t help but admit he was stunning with his tall stature and soft facial features.
His scent was cool yet sharp, tickling his nose with its saturation. But the most striking was this man’s piercing gaze of mismatched eyes. They landed on Izuku for barely a moment before bowing slightly toward Hisashi.
“I apologize for my father’s insensitive words. Might I introduce myself as Shouto, youngest son of Enji and Rei, and heir to the neighboring lordship.”
“Oh, what a polite young man,” Inko breathed and Izuku didn’t miss the pleased smirk that lifted on Shouto’s face, nor the derisive scoff from the doorway.
The sound drew his curiosity, eyes searching for the origin. But as emerald met with frigid blue, he wished he’d kept his head down.
That gaze held nothing by contempt, and emotions so strong they filled Izuku with such feelings of worthlessness and unease, he quickly had to pull away.
His mother patted his thigh, most likely taking his jolt as unease with so many alphas in the room, but it was the sweet aroma of spiced cocoa that had him so shaken. Another male omega, one with so much hatred simmering beneath those icy eyes.
Izuku swallowed harshly, trying and failing to bring moisture back into his mouth. This meeting had promised to be difficult, but now it felt impossible.
That disgusted, icy gaze remained on him, so sharp and searching he was sure he’d already been found out.
Sliding his hand into his mother’s, Izuku tried his best to stop the shaking of his limbs, but the feeling of being stalked within the place he was supposed to call sanctuary put him at a loss for what to do, how to act.
“Shall we begin?” Hisashi suggested, completely unaware of the crisis his son was currently facing, and gestured for Enji and Shouto to follow him to the adjoining study. As the group disbanded, Izuku could not bring himself to move a muscle.

Thank you @MartianWrites for encouraging me to write something for this. As usual, what could have been a oneshot has morphed into a multi-chapter fic lmao
The lady at the shop had assured him, and his mother, multiple times that the sofa had been deep cleaned before it went out onto the sales floor. A few accent pillows bought off Etsy, and it fit Izuku’s style perfectly.
The television turned on with a press of the remote and Izuku flipped through the channels until he found something mindless to just have on in the background.

His legs are shaking and he can feel the uncomfortable wetness clinging to his skin as slick seeps into his underwear. He groans and follows Katsuki back onto the street.

Back at the agency at the end of their shift, Izuku refuses to look in Kacchan’s direction. It’s too embarrassing. Not to mention, the blonde has no shame about undressing in front of others. Why would he?

Katsuki kept his distance. It was easier that way. But the nerd was /always/ 10 steps behind him - the walk to school, in the cafeteria for lunch, the walk home. It pissed him the fuck off.
Most people thought he hated Deku, and yeah, he kind of did, but that wasn’t the whole truth. That stupid can-do attitude the nerd had was annoying as fuck, especially when the idiot didn’t have a quirk and always ended up in some kind of trouble.
But there were days when Katsuki watched Izuku…from a distance of course. There was just something about him. Hell, they’d been friends once, attached at the hip for most of their childhood.

Izuku peeled his costume off in the locker room, careful of the bruise forming between his shoulder blades. If danger sense hadn’t alerted him, he could have suffered a spinal injury. As it was, Katsuki was sure to tear him a new one when he found out.
Izuku groaned and laid his forehead against the cool metal of the locker door. All these opposite shifts were going to be the death of him.

“Please, Bakugou, we need your help,” Yaomomo pressed.

“Why can’t you just make that shit?” Katsuki scoffed. “It’d be easier and then I don’t need to do shit.”
She stared at him for a long moment before he rolled his eyes. “Right, you’re fucking loaded. How dare I suggest avoiding a shopping spree.”
There were tentative squeals from the two women watching him carefully. They were pro heroes for fuck’s sake, couldn’t they make these decisions on their own?

“Sooo…” Mina said slowly, her tone hopeful.

“Fine,” Katsuki huffed before the acid heroine launched herself at him.
