Today's @OPCW report confirms Assad regime responsible for the chemical weapons attack on #Douma#Syria on April 7, 2018.
This illegal chlorine attack - that killed dozens of men, women, and children, and severely injured hundreds more - is part of a pattern 👇
This is the 9th instance of chemical weapons use independently attributed to the Assad regime by UN & OPCW mechanisms.
Since 2013, the Assad Regime has failed to fully declare & destroy its chemical weapons programme and cooperate with @OPCW.
Using deceit & disinformation, Russia helped Syria hide its use & stockpile of chemical weapons from international scrutiny.
They tried to block @UN’s investigation on Douma at all stages.🇷🇺military police tried to sanitise the site & destroy evidence the same day as the attack.
But the Syrian people know the truth because they lived it.
Today's OPCW report confirms it with clear evidence.
The UK is committed to the prohibition of chemical weapons and accountability for their use. We will continue to seek justice for the victims and their families.
