🚨"Adani Group in Crisis: Most Stocks Hit Lower Circuit Limits"

Will this trigger Downward Spiral for the Company?"

According to a report: "Adani tops up collateral on $1 billion loan after stock rout"

🧵to understand Downward Spiral

#Adani #AdaniPower #ADANIENT
1) When business owners need money for any reason, they sometimes give some of their company's shares to banks as a guarantee. This is called Pledging.

Adani group has also pledged its stocks for loans.

See below
2) When company's shares go down below a preset value that can cover bank's loan value, the bank will ask for more money or shares as a guarantee that the loan will be paid back. This is called a "margin call".

So, falling Adani stocks can trigger margin call for Adani group.
3) As a result, the business owner needs to either give the bank more shares or pay back some of the loan to bring the value of the shares that they have promised to the bank back up to the original level.

See below:

economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/company/c…
4) If the business owner can't provide more money or shares when the bank asks for it, the bank has the authority to sell the shares they have been given as a guarantee in the stock market.
5) If banks start selling shares in order to get their money back, it will make other investors less confident & they will also start selling their shares.

This can create a cycle of more selling and more banks asking for more money. This process is called Downward Spiral.

🚨"Hindenburg's Size of Short on the Adani Group could be 16,000-20,000 Cr"

Read my logical guess in this🧵

1) In Sept 2020, Hindenburg made its last short(before Adani) on Nikola Motors, worth $1.3 billion (10,000 Cr).

#HindenburgReport #Adani #Hindenburg #AdaniGroup
2) Within six months of Hindenburg's short and report on Nikola, Nikola's stock plummeted 60-70%. Currently, it is down 90% from its September 2020 levels.

3) Assume Hindenburg exited after a 50% fall in Nikola, they made a 50% profit on their short, and they would earn 5000 Cr.
4) They have also made profits from shorting multiple companies after exposing them even before Nikola.

Additionally, it is important for them to maintain a sufficient buffer in case the short go in the opposite direction.

🚨 What could be the possible reasons for the recall of Adani Enterprise's FPO? 🧵

1) The most apparent reason is to enhance the declining reputation of the Adani group by returning money to investors in a responsible manner.

#AdaniFPO #AdaniEnterprises #AdaniGroup
2) Big investors such as Bill Ackman are questioning the legitimacy of the offering and alleging it to be rigged.

Canceling the FPO can halt further questioning of the offer's credibility.

See Bill Ackman's tweet:

3) The big family offices that funded the FPO have begun putting pressure on the Adani group to return the money.

🚨My Interpretation on Standard Deduction Announcement in Today's Budget🧵

1) Std deduction will still be 50,000 not 52,500

2) In the new regime, it was not previously considered a deduction, but starting this year it will be recognized as deduction.

#Budget #incometaxslabs
3) Let's take one example to understand this.

Consider Gross Salary= 15.5 Lakh

Calculate tax payable under both pre-budget & post-budget scenarios.

Before Budget, you would have paid 202,500 tax.

After budget announcement, you will pay 150,000 tax.

So net gain of 52,500.
4) The increase of the standard deduction from 50,000 to 52,500 was not explicitly mentioned in the budget speech, but it is being interpreted by many as such.

Below is the budget snippet.

🚨"Bajaj Finance's Exceptional Q3: 40% Net Profit Growth, A New Record"🚀

Key Takeaways of Bajaj Finance's Q3 Result in this🧵

1) Net profit rose by 40% from the previous year, totaling 2,973 crores.

#BajajFinance #bajaj_finance
2) Bajaj Finance made 24% more money from net interest income compared to last year which is a very big positive.

NBFCs make money by charging more interest on loans they give out than the interest they pay to borrow money from other financial institutions or people.
3) Bajaj Finance's NPA ratio stands at 1.14% which is considered very low.

NBFC keep track of the money that people don't pay back by using a number called NPA. A lower NPA number means that the NBFC is able to get most of its money back from the people who borrowed it.
