*NEW* Tofield's ER Closure has been extended to March 2nd. The ER continues to close from 8pm to 8am daily. Closest ER's during this time are Camrose (54KM), Grey Nuns (58KM), Strathcona (65KM) Vegreville OR U of A (70KM) & Viking (69KM). /2
*NEW* Milk River continues to see its ER Closed due to no physicians. The ER Closed at 5pm on Feb 3rd and will not open until 8am tomorrow Feb 6th. Hospital also closed last week for same reasons. Closest ER's are Raymond (60KM) & Lethbridge (87KM) /3
*NEW* Canmore's Operating Room (Specifically OB Patients) will now close on weekends, due to staffing struggles. The Unit will now close from Friday at 4pm to Monday at 7am, and patients are asked to drive to Foothills Hospital (98KM) for any OB Services. /4
*NEW* Edson Hospital has also had to close, it's OB/Surgical services as of Thursday Feb 2nd. The Unit was expected to re-open today, but no updates have been seen. /5
*NEW* Whitecourt has also had it's OB unit closure extended. Due to end this week, it has now been extended through-to March 1st 2023. With Edson's closure this week, it has added onto the OB Pressures in the region. /6
*NEW* Westlock's OB Closure, has also been extended as well. The most recent update, has the OB unit closed now until March 6th 2023. Lac La Biche, Rimbey, Sundre & Three Hills also have OB Unit closures on-going. /7
*NEW* St. Paul's Surgical & Endoscopy units, were closed as of 7am February 2nd due to physician shortages. This closure is scheduled to continue until 5pm Feb 12th. St. Paul has also seen 5/42 Acute care beds closed as well. /8
*NEW* Daysland's ER Closure has been extended, through to March 6th 2023. The ER will close from 10pm to 7AM with ER patients being diverted to Camrose (42KM) or Viking (59KM). Both Hardisty & Consort's ER Departments remain fully closed. /9
Reminder! Boyle's Hospital struggles continue, as the full closure of its Acute Care and Nightly closure continue! The ER will now close from 8PM to 9AM daily. Closest ER's are Athabasca (43KM), Lac La Biche (67KM), Smoky Lake (78KM) or Redwater (90km) /10

REMINDER! Barrhead's Surgical Shut down has been extended, even further effective this week! This now includes OB Services requiring C-Sections & epidurals. The unit closed Jan 26th and will not open until Feb 7th. The unit will close again Feb 8-14th & Feb 15th-28th. /13

EPSB reported on 2/2 an absence rate of 3.8% or 4,188 students away sick. CBE saw an increase of students away, with an absence rate of 4.4% or 5,655 students away sick. A number of CBE Schools have absence rates between 10-20%. /15

*NEW* Stollery Hospital as of today has declared, a Local State of Emergency for the site. This is due to the continued pressure from High patient acuity in the Critical Care Area's including PICU & Emergency Department. Redeployment of staff is possible + other measures. /2

EPSB Reported a student absence rate of 5.91% for Friday December 2nd. This means around 6,466 students were not in class. CBE Reported an absence rate of 7.7% or 9,884 students out sick. CCSD reports 36 Schools, with absence rates OVER 10%. No exact numbers provided. 2/
In an email sent out by CCSD and posted on their website, they are now "Strongly Encouraging the use of masks in large group gatherings. This includes Christmas concerts, athletic events, etc., at schools that are not above 10% absenteeism." 3/
