Founded in 1960, New College of Florida leads all public universities in the U.S. for the % of students that go on to earn PhDs.

It's the #5 PUBLIC liberal arts college in the U.S. (#1 that's not U.S. military affiliated), U.S. News World & Report

Novo Collegians account for 25% of all Florida's Fulbright winners.

Students have received 86 Fulbright fellowships, with 34 of those in the last five years. Students have also won Rhodes and Marshall Scholarships, two of the most competitive postgraduate awards in the country

New College is the ONLY public school in the Top 20 producers of PhDs, beating out six of the eight Ivy League schools.

New College ranks #1 in the country in public colleges / universities for students going on to earn a PhD in ALL disciplines.

It’s ranked 11th if you include private colleges and universities, right behind M.I.T. and CalTech, but is still higher in the rankings than Harvard and Yale.

This means you actually have a better chance of going on to successfully complete a PhD if you chose New College as your undergrad institution ... than if you went to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc.

And it's just a fraction of the price:

80% percent of New College graduates pursue further education.

New College has always had a progressive, LGBTQ friendly campus. I went there in 1990s and nothing has changed.

It hasn’t been suddenly indoctrinated with ‘woke ideology.’ Whatever that is.

There is a false narrative DeSantis and his appointees are trying to propagate: that NCF has an enrollment problem because the student culture is too progressive/liberal, yet this is not backed up by data.

Inclusivity language actually raises enrollment.

The most competitive and popular public university on the planet is @UCBerkeley, which has a notoriously liberal/lefist campus with a rich history of activism -- and yet, it doesn't have an enrollment problem.

The main issue has been that the state has NEVER marketed New College of Florida and its rigorous academic program, that requires completing a thesis and defending it in front of a bac exam to get a B.A., is not for everyone -- and some students who don't feel up to it transfer.

This is actually a strength of NCF and why it produces so many scholars and PhDs. It's always been small.

Only a small % of students want to pursue intense scholarship, but the fact they can pursue it DEBT-FREE at a public college and gain social mobility is astounding!
