There was so much wrong with the #EUreferendum, that had it been a legally binding vote, instead of just โ€˜advisoryโ€™, the courts could and would have annulled the result as compromised and unsafe.
The problems with the #Brexit โ€˜winโ€™ are so numerous, so serious, and so undemocratic, that the country should have a new democratic opportunity to reconsider our departure from the #EU.

In the following tweets are just SOME of the reasons why:
โ–ช ๐—ง๐—›๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—˜ of the five territories required to vote in the #EUreferendum โ€“ Scotland, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar โ€“ voted for Remain.

Yet, #Brexit still went ahead.
โ–ช ๐— ๐—œ๐—Ÿ๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก๐—ฆ of citizens from the rest of the #EU living and working in the UK, and hundreds of thousands of British citizens living across the EU, were denied a vote in the #EUreferendum, even though the outcome directly affected them.
โ–ช ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ข๐—ง๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—›๐—”๐—ก๐——, citizens resident in the UK from over 70 different countries WERE allowed to vote in the referendum.

Was that fair when most citizens living in the UK from other #EU countries were refused a vote?
โ–ช ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—™๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ก๐——๐—จ๐—  was riddled with serious irregularities, illegalities, and alleged fraud, resulting in the Leave campaigns being fined for significant overspending and misuse of data.
โ–ช ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—”๐—ฉ๐—˜ ๐—–๐—”๐— ๐—ฃ๐—”๐—œ๐—š๐—ก had to rely entirely on lies to win. All the reasons to leave the #EU were based on misinformation, mistruths, and false promises. (Yes, all of them โ€“ see breturn.eu-rope.com).
โ–ช ๐—ฃ๐—จ๐—ง๐—œ๐—กโ€™๐—ฆ ๐—ฅ๐—จ๐—ฆ๐—ฆ๐—œ๐—” helped to fuel and fund #Brexit โ€“ something the European Court of Human Rights is now looking into. (See theRussianConnection.co.uk)
โ–ช ๐—ก๐—ข๐—•๐—ข๐——๐—ฌ who voted for Leave could have given their informed consent. Thatโ€™s because the country was not sufficiently informed about the consequences of leaving the #EU.

No version of #Brexit was defined or agreed in the #EUreferendum.
โ–ช ๐—ข๐—ก๐—Ÿ๐—ฌ a minority of the electorate gave their positive support for #Brexit, just 37%.
โ–ช ๐—Ÿ๐—˜๐—”๐—ฉ๐—˜ did not achieve a decisive win. The difference between Leave and Remain in the #EUreferendum was less than 4% - within the 'margin of error' for many statistical reports.
โ–ช ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—™๐—˜๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ก๐——๐—จ๐—  โ€“ by Act of Parliament โ€“ was advisory only, but the government treated it as binding.

Consequently, Parliament was denied a debate and vote on WHETHER the UK SHOULD leave the #EU. (See brexitdecision.eu-rope.com)
โ–ช ๐—ง๐—ข๐——๐—”๐—ฌ polls consistently show that most voters think #Brexit is a mistake and they would now vote to rejoin (See โ€˜Britain Doesnโ€™t Want Brexit': )
โ–ช ๐—•๐—ฅ๐—˜๐—ซ๐—œ๐—ง offers no benefits at all, only serious disadvantages. Leaving the #EU has considerably damaged Britain with more harm to come.
๐—ฆ๐—ข, ๐—ช๐—›๐—”๐—ง ๐——๐—ข ๐—ช๐—˜ ๐——๐—ข?

The flawed #EUreferendum and #Brexit have happened โ€“ we canโ€™t change the past.

But we could change the future, in the knowledge that the entire Brexit fiasco was based on a massive fraud.
Legitimately and democratically, it is possible to get #Brexit changed, if that is the will of the electorate.
Our task now should be to persuade parties, politicians, and the country that closer relations with the #EU, leading eventually and hopefully to returning as a full member, is in Britainโ€™s best interests.

โ†’ Why BIG decisions need BIG support โ€“ share 2-minute video

Big decisions need big support. Thatโ€™s surely something weโ€™ve learnt following the fiasco of #Brexit that most of the electorate never supported.
Letโ€™s look at it this way.

Say youโ€™re the boss of a company with 100 employees. You let the staff vote on whether the firm should move to a new location.

โ–ช 37 staff voted yes,
โ–ช 35 staff voted no,
โ–ช 28 didnโ€™t vote (many staff werenโ€™t sure)

Going ahead with #Brexit, with the support of a mere 37% of the electorate and with half the nations of the UK voting against it, was sheer, reckless, madness.
There are NO benefits to #Brexit; none whatsoever. Only severe downsides, that are hurting Britain now and will increasingly hurt us in the years ahead.
.@UKLabour is wrong to support any version of #Brexit.

Their Cummings-style slogan promising to โ€˜Make Brexit Workโ€™ is shockingly disingenuous and unfitting for Labour, a party that should instead be championing the truth.

โ‘  The country was misinformed โ€“ retweet!

Thatโ€™s because, in the 2016 #EUreferendum, the electorate was not sufficiently informed. On the contrary, we were grossly misinformed.
โ‘ก Legally, informed consent means that consent has been given with full knowledge of:

โ–ช the risks involved,
โ–ช the probable consequences,
โ–ช and the alternatives.
โ‘ข During the referendum, we were not fully aware of all the risks of #Brexit.

โ†’ Proof that voting for Leave was a vote for the unknownโ€ฆ

Hereโ€™s a question for you, I wrote in my report of February 2016: โ€˜๐—ช๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฑ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜…๐˜ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ๐˜€ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ฒ?โ€™

No, me neither.
But thatโ€™s what those campaigning for Britain to leave the #EU were expecting voters to do โ€“ vote to end our membership of the EU without knowing what weโ€™d have instead.

The problem LEAVERS had is that they simply didnโ€™t know, and for sure they couldnโ€™t agree.
As a result, two rival, irreconcilable โ€˜Leaveโ€™ campaigns were launched in the run-up to the referendum:

#UKIPโ€™s leader, Nigel Farage, supported one (Leave.EU) and @UKIPโ€™s then only MP, Douglas Carswell, supported the other (#VoteLeave).

โ‘  The #EUreferendum was undemocratic. Many people directly affected were denied a vote.

Citizens living in the UK from over 70 nations could vote in the EU referendum, but most citizens living here from the rest of the #EU could not.
โ‘ก Including Britain, 55 countries across the world are members of the #Commonwealth, and all citizens from those countries resident with โ€˜leave-to-remainโ€™ in the UK were granted a vote the #EUreferendum.

They included citizens living here from Australia, Canada, Ghana, India..
โ‘ข Just two #EU countries are members of the #Commonwealth, #Malta and #Cyprus, and citizens from those countries resident in the UK were able to vote in the #EUreferendum.
