1/ CometBFT is a state machine replication engine for the #Interchain

@cometbft offers advanced control over the replication engine, and access to a broader set of features.

This week we introduce CometBFT v0.37 

Let's discover the new features 👇

2/ v0.37 introduces ABCI1.0, which provides application developers access to two new methods: `PrepareProposal` and `ProcessProposal`. 

These new ABCI methods can impact the way developers are building their application.

3/ For example by improving latency of Interchain apps by unlocking optimistic execution.

How does this work for a blockchain using CometBFT?

4/ Imagine that the application is aware of the Block being proposed even before it is approved. We are talking of ‘’immediate" execution.

An application can compute the state that results from applying the transactions in a block while the block is still a candidate.

5/ If the network agrees to that proposal and commits the block, then the application will already have executed it.

This will lead to improved latency and faster execution. For this reason, immediate execution is also called optimistic execution.

6/ @SeiNetwork has been pioneering optimistic execution with the result of being the fastest L1 chain to finality on the market today at 600ms.

CometBFT is advancing the #Interchain to new horizons, boosting performance and unlocking new use cases.

7/ Keep an eye on @cometbft because the v0.38 will introduce the much-awaited ABCI 2.0 (two other new methods, which together with ABCI 1.0 comprise ABCI++)
