#MadrasHC is conducting a special sitting to hear the pleas of expelled #AIADMK leaders challenging the general council resolutions expelling them from party.
The expelled leaders had also sought a stay on the general council elections to the post of General Secretary. However, in previous sitting, the court refused to stay the election but directed the party to declare results after final disposal of applications

Sr Adv Krishnakumar- When you are dealing with political parties, you're Dealing with People's Representatives Act, constitutional provisions. You cannot implant the provisions of contract ipso jure and lift your hands.
Sr Adv Krishnakumar- Their contention that the relation is contractual and thus courts should not interfere in the internal matters of the party should be dismissed. This is not an unincorporated club or society. This is a party registered with the election commission.
