Delhi High Court to pronounce tomorrow judgment in Delhi police’s plea against discharge of Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar, Asif Iqbal Tanha and eight others in the 2019 Jamia violence case.

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma will pronounce the order tomorrow at 10:30 AN. Order was reserved last week after a detailed hearing of more than two hours.

Delhi HC quashes summoning order issued against online portal The Wire’s Editor and Deputy Editor in defamation case filed by ex JNU professor Amita Singh.

Singh had alleged that the publication imputed that she prepared dossier depicting JNU is a “Den of Organised Sex Racket”. Image
Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani quashed the summoning order dated January 07, 2017 issued by a MM Court.

The court observed that it was unable to discern as to how the subject publication can be said to have defamed Singh.
