There are Autocrats around the world who would pay hundreds of millions in taxpayer money to spike a global communications platform that's bringing democracy to the far reaches of the planet.
I've been kicked off this platform more times than I can count.
I probably deserved it once, I'll give them one. But, seriously...
No liberal has ever censored a view. Ever. We judge folks for their views, and conservatives take THAT as a personal attack.
Human nature.
Truth be known:
In the 80s, there was "The News". Just one big ole ball of news.
When Reaganomics failed, Conservatives couldn't answer for it. Then, they started to refuse to answer for it... and accused "The News" of being biased against them.
So, they self-segregated.
Conservatives created their very own outlets.
They spent millions, and made billions. Good business. Bad for society, though.
They're still complaining about "The News", as if they didn't spend a generation building their very own biased outlets.
They also call it mainstream
Morally and ethically, Conservatives failed at everything they've ever tried to do.
They can't exist in the real world. They need a captive audience.
#BigData provides them with an endless supply of the world's most gullible audience. #CambridgeAnalytica happens all the time.
@Twitter, for all of its flaws... is still the global soapbox. It still affords random with the ability to effect policy change.
It provides agency.
It gives access.
It's meant for more than we give it credit for. We take it for granted.
The UN should buy it.
Seriously.
Offer @elonmusk a chance to save face and look like a magnanimous genius; and he would dance on the head of a pin for you.
Offer $45B, and tell him he's lucky: we're nice.
@OTPPinfo might be able to finance a transition of ownership. We could make it worth their while.
The fund is worth more than Elon was, back when he was the richest man ever.
But as I read their financial reporting, I can see they have conservatives influencing their board.
Gross.
Sorry about that.
That's just my lizard brain talking. 🧠
I do go off the rails from time to time. The key is getting back on track.
Human nature is like this. 👍🏾
I heard positive things about the sobriety of those directing the USD and took it as a personal attack.
Whats the relation between social media ownership and failed conservative policies?
Everything.
It's all right there, really.
Republicans took out trillions in USD after losing in 2020.
They punished Americans for voting against them.
The Global Fascist movement bought Twitter. This platform was far too democratic for their liking. Allowing everyone access to the world's greatest minds and creating a global townhall is bad for the political fortunes of @idualliance member parties.
When Facebook first started, there were no bots. Users were eager and genuine. Trolling developed over time, but in the beginning, the platforms were clean.
What you'd notice was that there weren't many conservatives.
Their numbers disadvantage was stark. A third of us all.
That's when Facebook monetized itself, and began selling to desperate conservative politicians.
Within 10 years, that platform got Donald J Trump elected.
Remember when Zuckerberg was floating his name for the Presidency? Right after he found out what Facebook could do...
