Those dumb enough to think Montana has a housing shortage instead of an overpopulation catastrophe are only going to make things worse by trying to build their way out of it.
Because #MTleg won't acknowledge the actual problem, affordability will continue to get even worse.
Acreage is not the only component of habitat. There simply isn’t enough water and there will always be another drought in Montana. That’s reality.
The constitutional allocation of water won’t change because it benefits the ultra wealthy.
Ignoring reality = awful public policy.
If the actual problem is successfully diagnosed, then easy #mtleg solutions become apparent.
Ending the importation of out-of-state college kids into the overpopulated towns of #Bozeman and #Missoula is a no-brainer.
And would save the $24m cost of the Gallatin College campus…
A one-page bill setting the cost of an out-of-state tuition credit as equal to the governor’s salary is the easy solution.
The universities would again foster MT social cohesion and it would save #Bozeman and #Missoula.
This isn’t complicated, but #mtleg is making things worse.
And @GovGianforte has a constitutional duty to declare a state of emergency over the overpopulation crisis in the western valleys.
He should lead the public in shunning the transplants destroying Montana. It’s not to late to save the state and protect our rights. #mtleg
Another elegant one-page #MTleg bill would force DEQ to ban “exempt” water wells in overpopulated western valleys.
Another would be to get municipal water departments to respect “first in time, first in line” so sprawl gets cut off entirely before the sustainable town has cuts.
Three one-page bills could save Montana and our constitutional rights of water and a clean and healthful environment, but instead @GovGianforte and #MTleg are choosing to make the overpopulation catastrophe worse.
It doesn’t have to be like this…

More crap coverage from @bozchron, who seem to think #Bozeman's economic catastrophe just involves the feelings of businesses, instead of the fact the economy is in crisis because disgraced health officer Matt Kelley continues to lie to push awful public policy. #MTnews#MTpol
But @bozchron continues to pretend Matt Kelley has credibility -- despite him being wrong since March -- and the result of crap coverage is that crap public policy is getting worse.
