Formed in 2021, the Net Zero Scrutiny Group is made up of swivel-eyed backbench Tory MPs. It claims to accept climate science, but has a number of strong institutional links with the Global Warming Policy Foundation, the UK’s most prominent climate science denial organisation.
Net Zero Scrutiny Group members also have close ties to the Brexit-backing Conservative parliamentary group the European Research Group (ERG); #TuftonStreet's free-market Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA); & anti-fuel duty lobbying group FairFuelUK.

And as for #TuftonStreet's Global Warming Policy Foundation, it should surprise no-one that it has received more than half a million dollars through a fund linked to controversial Libertarian billionaire Charles Koch.

The improvements most needed were in three key areas: better joint working between different local agencies (93%); further work to encourage new & innovative practice (85%); & better training for practitioners (81%) (and NOT Mandatory reporting).

In signing the Brextremist CPTPP, Britain has ditched environmental standards, signed up to terms that will undermine British farmers, and left us open to being sued by multinational corporations in secretive courts. And all for no real economic benefit.

The government announced that Britain has joined a trade deal so contentious that it united Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in opposition to US membership.
Britain has been forced to lower environmental standards as a condition for entry to the deal.

The whole point of the CPTPP is to get countries to recognise standards as equivalent to each other – and to accept imports even where there are real differences in standards.

Suella Braverman's husband lost family in the Holocaust, so why didn't he find his wife's use of the antisemitic conspiracy theory of 'cultural Marxism' disgusting - like the Board of Deputies did? He must also know her Rwanda Plan is reminiscent of the Nazi's Madagascar Plan.
Braverman & the UK Government has fully embraced & utilises the far-right strategy of 'victim-perpetrator reversal', favoured by illiberal populist authoritarian politicians across Europe & beyond for several decades.
Why were the Board of Deputies & many others concerned about many @Conservatives' frequent use of 'cultural Marxism'?

Because it was cited by both Norwegian far-right domestic terrorist Anders Breivik, & by John T. Earnest, the perpetrator of the 2019 Poway synagogue shooting.

“IGNORE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE AT YOUR PERIL!”

Since the #Brexit vote, the proportion of people declaring confidence in parliament has slumped by 10 percentage points to 22% while there has been a seven percentage point rise in confidence in the European Union, to 39%.
Only 24% of people said they were “happy” that the UK voted to quit the EU, while 49% were disappointed.

The UK has also joined the ranks of countries least likely to have confidence in the UK government & parliament – falling behind France, Germany, Australia, Iran, & China.
“Confidence in parliament has halved since 1990. We’re among the least likely of more than 20 countries in the study to have confidence in the government; confidence in the police has fallen sharply, particularly in London; & only Egypt has less trust in their press.”

We're not dissatisfied with the #NHS per se - we're dissatisfied with waiting times, staff shortages, & Govt underfunding!
