The #RESTRICT Act is something currently in legislation that will affect those of us in the US and is something that I am not seeing talked about enough. Below are some thoughts and reading materials regarding what is also known as S686 👇
⚠️ Disclaimer: the following are just my thoughts regarding this bill and for educational purposes, always DYOR; S686 is a bit too broad in its wording for my personal comfort. In a perfect world the bill serves a noble purpose, however, we do not live in that world.
If you are aware of the US Patriot Act, then you can think of this as the USPA2.0 – for the digital age. What this means is that the US government will be surveilling the use of “information communications technology” (social media) in the name of national security.
Beyond social media, any device connecting to it can become illegal. the bill explicitly states US citizens attempting to circumvent this (eg using a VPN) – will face up to $250,000 in fines and no more than 20 years in prison. Sound good?
the outlined goal is to target “foreign adversaries” and platforms coming out of them. most notably being TikTok, with CEO Shou Zi Chew having testified to congress last week. This is an attempt to censor free speech and put a chokehold on a community of 150 million monthly users
Did I mention that 150 million users are American users? I personally do not use TikTok, but there is no denying its impact on the daily lives of so many people. As of February this year TikTok also boasted more than 7,000 US employees and 5 million US businesses 🇺🇸
If you made it this far, thank you for reading 🙏 This bill will set major precedence regarding US citizens data privacy and is important to keep an eye on. I didn’t cover everything in the bill, just some quick thoughts. I do encourage further research into the bill.

continuing with the beta testing has been a blast, I was lucky enough to be able to speak with @ryanmyher CMO of @Lore_Explore to get a more in depth look at the *first* human readable scanner and how they unlocked the individual wallet and asset addresses to be this way 😌
some of the insights in this short thread include:
-UI & ease of use
-team, partners & funding
-future plans
-special features
-security
when a user first opens the Lore explorer, they are greeted with a modern, Google-esque landing page; here there are tabs for your tracked wallets, or labels (you get to name these wallets). You can also see “entities” which are some of the big names in
if you have been following the trending and popular market projects, perpetual DEXs are at the top of the list. @AVTtrade is currently in beta and has been since February 2023, building on Optimism’s Goerli testnet, but testing is coming to a close, launch day is upon us soon 🫡
I have been trying the beta for the past couple weeks and it is very smooth, intuitive and user friendly with a beautiful interface 👍 there are rewards coming for beta testers AND early users (from launch - june) and we always like a little extra💰
AVT, like GMX and similar perp DEXs, uses a two token model $AVT & $ALP (governance and LP tokens, receiving 20 & 80% of protocol revenue respectively). The ALP token can be minted with $BTC $ETH $OP $USDC $USDT and $DAI
In celebration of being just one month out from the @0xPolygonZK launch of Hermez 2.0, we should probably look at what the #ZK scaling solution has to offer us, what it does and why it is important (a short summary of my findings) 🧵:
We are embarking into exciting and uncharted waters as we enter the era of Zero Knowledge Proofs, roll ups & #zkEVM With @0xpolygon launching it’s first (of 4) solution, Hermez 2 on 27 March. a ZKP shows that information is valid, without any details about the information itself.
Polygon Labs announced their ambitious goals in 2021, their ZK rollup is a fully decentralized layer 2 solution, built on top of and inheriting all the security of the ETH mainnet, but benefiting from cheaper transaction costs and faster finality.
GM! After doing more digging into the two part @stablfi and @SatinExchange ecosystem and talking with the patient team, I figured it’s only right to share the findings and why I am bullish on StadaLabs (NFA, DYOR): 👇
We will start with Stablfi, the home to the $CASH stable coin, an index stable backed by a basket composed of $USDC $USDT & $DAI which are used to mint the rebasing $CASH token at a 1:1 value, though there is a 0.25% fee to both mint and redeem – this fee pads the treasury and
creates padding in the event of a depeg, @chainlink price feed oracles are used to track the price of the 3 stables in the basket, ensuring the integrity of $CASH
The collateral used to mint the new stable coin is then subsequently used to farm on tried and trusted protocols,
internet security has always been important, but never so much as in the #web3 space. in this short 🧵 we will take a look at some of the (free) tools to keep you, your digital identity and your funds safe, let's dive in 👇
1. browsers; what a majority of people are familiar with and probably use, @googlechrome it is a great browser that is compatible with most computer OS, but on it's own needs help in the security department- luckily we have plugins, which we will get to shortly
if you prefer a Web3 browser with preset, but customizable security features @brave is the best choice. this browser is not only compatible with Chrome extensions, it comes baked in with anti-phishing and ad block- though they reward users who wish to view ads with (that do not
