Dutch government, like other EU member states, has committed to contributing funds to the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) as part of the EU's overall recovery package.
Under the EU's multiannual financial framework for 2021-2027, the Netherlands is expected to
contribute around €6.5 . The Dutch government is set to receive a total of €6.25 billion from the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), which is designed to help member states recover from the economic and social impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The RRF funds
are allocated to the Netherlands as grants and loans, with €5.1 billion in grants and €1.15 billion in loans. The funds are intended to support investments and reforms that promote economic recovery, job creation, and the transition to a more sustainable and digital economy.
So we give € 6.2 bn to the EU_commission which is paid by the Dutch taxpayers, and we get € 5.1 bn back if we do what the #EU_commission dictates and 1.15 bn is being granted as a loan. The Unbearable lightness of the EU. ImageImageImage

The Great Food Reset has begun - UnHerd unherd.com/2023/03/the-gr…
France is in flames. Israel is erupting. America is facing a second January 6. In the Netherlands, however, the political establishment is reeling from an entirely different type of protest — one that, perhaps more than any other raging today, threatens to destabilise the global
order. The victory of the #Farmer_Citizen_Movement (#BBB) in the recent provincial elections represents an extraordinary result for an anti-establishment party that was formed just over three years ago. But then again, these are not ordinary times.

Reden zegevierde zondag in Berlijn.

#Putin Ups the Ante With Nukes in Belarus up till his arse into the #nukes bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…
Putin is also trying to conflate his own plans in Belarus with the long-standing US practice of stationing nuclear bombs in Allied nations such as Belgium, the #Netherlands, #Germany, Italy and Turkey. But those arsenals — whatever their merits at the time — date to the Cold War.
Neither Washington nor any other capital in control of nuclear weapons would dream of placing such warheads closer to Russia in the current state of tension. You wonder if that polite stand off between the West and Russia relations will continue. Putin showing no turning back

But broader acceptance of the idea that the neutral rate — known in economics circles as “r-star” — has gone up would have adverse implications for a #Treasury_market nursing back-to-back down years. A higher neutral rate should raise yields across the curve, led by rising
short-term rates along with some restoration of a term premium for owning longer-dated Treasuries. “The 2 percentage point drop in estimates of r* following the global financial crisis rests on shaky ground,” Matthew Raskin, the head of US rates strategy at Deutsche Bank
#Securities in New York, wrote in a Feb. 10 note. “If growth and the labor market remain resilient,” then investors can expect Fed officials to upgrade their estimates, which “would have big implications for longer-run rates,” he said. But if interest rates were to revert to the
