Bhagwan Parashuram is the 6th incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu. Unlike krishna, Rama, Narashimha Parashuram is an ansh avatar of Vishnu who incarnated to kill the arrogant kshatriyas.

Parashuram was born to Sage Jamdagni and Renuka.
Once parashuram beheaded his own mother at the orders of his father. Later, at the request of parashuram, Jamdagni gave back life to his mother.

Parshuram's original name was Ram. As Mahadev's devotee, he received an infallible axe from Shiva. So, he is known as Parashuram.
Parashuram's aim was to lower burden of earth by killing tyrant kshatriyas. He did this 21 times.

There lived a kshatriya king named Kartavirya Arjun who had a boon that he can only be killed by Bhagwan vishnu. Parashuram, being an incarnation of Vishnu, killed him.

Kartavirya Arjun was so powerful that he once rendered Parasurama unconscious in the battle. Bhagwan Shiva had to revive him. Parashuram killed Kartavirya Arjun with his axe.

During Mata Sita's swayamvar, Parashuram was confused to see Bhagwan Rama break the all mighty bow. He then saw in Bhagwan Rama's body supreme cosmic form & realized that he was none other than Vishnu.

Bhagwan Rama once used infallible Vaishnavastra to take Vishnu tattva from Parashurama as he became arrogant.
Parasurama was the preceptor of three important people of mahabharat- bisma, karna, drona.

Parasuram once fought with Bhisma. The fight went on to 21 days and Bhisma couldn't find a way to defeat his preceptor.

Finally, Bhisma was about to use Praswapastra on Parasuram. But Narad stopped him as this would be an insult to Parashuram. Parashuram admitted his inability to counter praswapa.

Bhagwan Brahma then announced that Arjuna, the son of Indra, will be cause of the downfall of Bhisma.
Parasuram gave all his weapons to Drona.

Parashuram is said to be a chiranjeevi( immortal).
Parashurama will again come as the preceptor of Bhagwan Kalki, the final avatar of Bhagwan Vishnu.
