This article about male Glenique Frank who ran London Marathon in the female category is v interesting - please read. 👇Thanks to @georgeabtsports for flagging.
1. Frank seems to think his eligibility for the female category is about passports & “I ticked female because I…
…see myself as female”. (Last night this said “felt female” but article seems to have been updated; unftly I did not keep screenshot.) In actual material reality, UK Athletics rules in force from May 2021 to 31 March 2023 determined eligibility. They required testosterone….
…suppression under 5nmol for 12 months to become eligible & then continuous suppression under 5nmol to remain eligible. Was Frank in full compliance with these rules? If not, he must be disqualified.
2. Frank says he “came out three years ago”. So April 2020. In Oct 2021 he..
…ran LM in the men’s category, so why didn’t he do that this time? 🤔
3. Frank says it was “traumatic” to be publicly attacked. If he ran in the male category, nobody would care. Does he think males like him invading female-only single-sex spaces is NOT traumatic for W&G? 🤔
4. Frank says he’s “trying to spread joy and happiness with the rainbow love”. Yeah, he cd have done that running in the men’s category. Women & girls in sport whose achievements are stolen by males like him don’t feel much “joy and happiness”.
5. “I feel sad that I’ve upset Mara, because I respect her”. So if I or @ripx4nutmeg had not drawn attention to this, what? This isn’t about me, it’s about ALL women & girls, especially the 20,144 females who suffered unfair competition on Sunday & the nearly 14,000 who suffered
… a worse finish position bc of him. Does he respect them? If it was one of them, not me speaking up, would he have taken any notice?
6. The words “girl” & “granny” are taken, by females. No male will ever be a girl or a granny. Stop stealing our language!
7. Frank is “shocked at the blowback” bc not elite competing for prize money. So fair competition for all females below elite level doesn’t matter? Has he ever asked any of them?
8. Raising money for charity - great, well done. Go & do that in the male category.
9. Frank says he’s “going to enter under ‘other’ or ‘male’, just to keep everybody happy.” Good. But if nobody had spoken up, would he have continued running in the female category? This isn’t about “happy”, it’s about FAIRNESS for females. Did he consider that when he entered..
…in the female category?
Every male in the female category shows that this is all about them. They never seem to give a scrap of thought to the impact of their actions on women & girls.
The female category is for females to enjoy, participate & compete against other females
It is NOT for males to indulge their fantasies that they are ‘women’, nor for those males to use female athletes as unconsenting tools to affirm their fantasies.
Today I tweeted about male Glenique Frank running in the female category in yesterday’s London Marathon.
In response @LibDems candidate @HarryMarstonLD tweeted this 👇to my MP, @munirawilson (also LD). This is a man telling a female MP who she’s allowed to follow/not follow.
Harry called me a transphobe without a) defining it, b) saying what about my tweet he objected to, nor c) explaining why he (presumably) wants males in women’s sport.
He later deleted the tweet, after apparently critical replies, none of which I saw as I was out training.
He called his instruction to Munira to unfollow me a “harmless request” & objected to the insults others replied to him with, just after hurling “transphobe” at me.
As a constituent of Munira’s, I believe she is an excellent MP & I have only respect & admiration for her.
This male ran in yesterday’s #LondonMarathon as Glenique Frank in the female category (Mass race) finishing in 6160th place out of 20123. So nearly 14,000 actual females suffered a worse finish position bc of him.
Last month, he ran in the Tokyo Marathon, as Glen Frank, also…
post-puberty males from the F category. Under UKA transitional arrangements, males who had already entered races in the F category could still race. I assume this is how Frank was allowed to race ystday. Nevertheless, males in the F category is UNFAIR for females.
1. “TWAW” and “so of course they are entitled to participate in women’s sports”.
Two barefaced lies. TW are MALE. Women are FEMALE. Changing sex is impossible, therefore TW are not & never will be women. Women’s sport is for those born FEMALE so NO, males are NOT entitled to…
participate in women’s sports. Being male, they ARE entitled to participate in men’s sports. Why can’t males avail themselves of the embarrassment of opportunities available in men’s sport, rather than stealing things of value from females?
2. Bridges blaming those who speak up against gender ideology for the Colorado attacks. No mention of alleged attacker being non-binary, nor that 2-3 females are killed per week in UK. Bridges dismisses widespread valid concerns by using “so-called” & quotation marks.
3. No mention of death & rape threats targeting those who speak up, nor 2-3 women actually killed per week in UK, nor zero trans deaths in UK since 2019.
Sport being used as a proxy? No, we just don’t want males in female sports bc female sports are for females.
There are numerous points in this that need addressing. But perhaps the most important is this 👇.
I believe Bridges is referring to research by Joanna Harper, a trans-identifying male, which Bridges is part of. “I believe it will show that I haven’t got any unfair advantage”.
The elephant in the room with Harper’s research is: how does Harper ensure 100% effort from the TW participants, who have an incentive to deliberately underperform in tests to ‘prove’ no advantage & thereby strengthen the case that competition against females by them is ‘fair’?
Scientist @KerryMcGawley asked this question of Harper’s supervisor - a normal thing for a fellow academic to do. She got a very frosty response. Listen here from 52 mins in 👇 (to 54:30).
I was on @StephenNolan’s show on @bbc5live ystday at 23:20. After me, @PeterTatchell gave us all a lesson on #marathon physiology, inc saying TW are at a *disadvantage* compared to biological women bc the latter “have greater fatigue resistance & recover faster”. This is made-up,
unscientific nonsense. Obvs I know bc I’ve done it ! 🤬Peter, why is the male (which is what TW are) WR over TWELVE minutes faster than the female WR? @bbc should not be allowing outright lies to go unchallenged on their programmes. @FondOfBeetles@Scienceofsport@TLexercise
Peter also pushed case by case assessment of TW for sport. This is totally unworkable & would be discriminatory against some TW. @fairplaywomen explain here 👇.
