Science is the way of gaining knowledge about the world theory or the web3 space through observation and experimenting, its actually not difficult to carry out a research

Decentralized Science is the latest kid on the block.
This fast-growing development leverages blockchain technology to advance scientific research and help solve long-standing scientific challenges.
It promotes transparency and decentralization in science.

DeSci is operated on the principle of decentralization and makes use of tools including NFTs, smart contracts, and DAOs to move science away from centralized entities like research institutions and governments to autonomous communities.

🧬 Decentralized Science also aims to develop a distributed and trustless science publication system, in a way that the role of traditional publishers and gatekeepers becomes obsolete, leading to the peer-review becoming more transparent and simplified.

Such model is able to incentivize researchers to openly share their work while allowing scientific knowledge to be accessible to everyone.

🧬 Why is Decentralized Science needed

Although the #Desci technology is relatively new, a couple of projects have begun applying

blockchain principles in advancing science.
Across, different aspects of science particularly biotechnology #deSci can be applied.

Scientific discoveries have allowed for the extension of lifespan, and increasing human and organisms capabilities.

And has continuously played important roles in almost all areas of life on earth.

Although advancements seem to be on the rise, a number of challenges come up to stifle the advancement.

In addition to the exorbitant charges, some journals are deemed to be more prestigious than others leading to monopoly in the scientific community. Thus, restricting access to knowledge for both the masses and research.

Funding poses to be another serious challenge faced by scientists as landing grant opportunities can be quite a herculean task.

Some solutions to some of the challenges include:
Use of non-fungible tokens (#Nfts) for IP.

This is not only transparent but rewards researchers duly. Tokenization of IP rights may also help detect wrongful attributions.

DAOs and communities could be alternatives to traditional communities and research entities as they connect like-minds with similar goals.

These science based DAOS may also share competitive resources in order to advance science projects particularly those deficits of funding.

Token based mechanisms can also be offered as rewards to #DAO members to incentivize collaboration.
