If we’re HONEST about momlife,
more women will be ready for it.
I believe
INFORMED CONSENT
is the key to getting the
right job candidates.
Momlife is unpaid labor.
@LMMammita@TheBasedTrinity To be clear:
I am smiling and happy when I’m NOT being elbowed in the gut/insulted/ignored/shushed/scolded for “making the wrong dinner”/screamed at for reminding the kid to brush/etc.
These are newer school-age kid struggles that I WELCOME
compared to the baby trenches! 😂
Its VERY common for women standing around parks to share horror stories about what they’ve been going through while the toddlers hit each other & run into walls at the playground.
Back in the day b4 the internet,
these were hush conversations.
The average age to have a kid is 27.
This means women spend their 20s enjoying life, earning credentials, building a career. Traveling.
Enjoying DINKlife.
Family? Bye bye.
Boss? Quit and report.
Toxic & hostile conditions are unnecessary red flags;
problems to be fixed by professionals, like the labor board, or an abusive partner’s psychiatrist.
@LMMammita@TheBasedTrinity So for many women who got to enjoy safety, freedom, and respect for a decade or so before breeding:
Kids are like nonstop doing this
😂
AND ITS SO FRUSTRATING😭
They prevent basic communication on purpose bc nobody has taught them social skills yet. WE have to.
@LMMammita@TheBasedTrinity The hardest
is when you feel
frustrated for too long
bc the kid is ignoring you,
making messes,
breaking things,
running away from you,
& you’re trying to do
basic body care for them.
And you NEED A MINUTE.
& they WON’T let you tap out
or trade places w a partner.
@LMMammita@TheBasedTrinity If WE as society
teach girls
ACCURATE momlife,
instead of the
“this is the BEST job!” bull,
then we’d be
MORE
HONEST
about what #parenthood IS.
Honesty creates happier families because it prevents all the anger
that forms naturally when
we realize we were deceived.
Right now the current battle we parents are having w a magnet charter school (read: private business)
is mitigation strategy for having no accredited teacher most of 2023.
We were mislead: the “new teacher” was NOT accredited or full time. It was a PT student teaching 3X wk 🧵
This affected the students in different ways. Lack of adult consistency caused the special ed kid to throw tantrums. The advanced students were now in daycare. Subs daily. They watched more pixar movies in school than we watched at home for the duration of 2023.
The HW stopped.
Luckily we found out that a fellow parent is an accredited teacher! So she is now teaching her own kid. A few months is a LONG time to be at daycare instead of school for a kid. If we parents had known, we would have pulled our kids out and put them in a REAL SCHOOL.
@hitman_S1@17AmericanTruth@IntenselyMeRN@SanchezKaela@to_discussion In order for a pregnancy to be viable, a lot of cards have to fall into place.
The egg and sperm must be functional w a chemical reaction strong enough to get positive feedbacks from other chemical reactions in the system. Genes must be compatible. Abortion keeps genes strong…
@hitman_S1@17AmericanTruth@IntenselyMeRN@SanchezKaela@to_discussion Even in young women,
abortion must happen naturally for good strong babies.
If women gestated every pregnancy, the gene pool would get weaker.
The old estimate used to be around 30% of pregnancy, which is why women are advised NOT to share pregnancy news til the second tri…
Was reminded today of a hospital birth I was lucky enough to attend. My friend was on her back during an unexpected muscle contraction while requesting to speak to a nurse who had turned up her pitocin on the IV without consent. 🧵
The nurse ignored her partners requests to turn the pitocin down (very painful meds that speed contractions), and changed the subject, picking up my friend’s forearm instead.
“What lovely tattoos” she strokes my friends arm w her manicured nails.
My friend was immediately upset
At that moment, an unnecessarily intense contraction squeezed the breath out of my friend, and she uttered “Oh my God” to which the nurse put both her hands on my friends upper arm and said
“He is with you now”
The partner IMMEDIATELY gave the ‘get this bitch out of here’ sign
Had a dream there was a gas leak. Woke up to the smell of methane.
But immediately thought,
“I don’t hear the alarm…”
(Thinking of the carbon monoxide alarm in the living room😬)
I investigate.
Housemate had gas burner on high for 40 minutes cooking artichokes at 12:30am
Nobody was in the kitchen.
Timer had 9 minutes left.
I checked the water level,
they were boiling
off less than a cm.
Def would have burned if they waited for the timer.
But am proud they used a timer.
(I need an induction stovetop)
They heard a person
walk around and
came into the kitchen
right when I was there
in front of their artichokes.
I had to explain.
I considered suggesting
the pressure cooker
(shorter cooking time, lower gas time, cheaper, more effective)
but I didn’t.
@yessmanstu@GeraldKutney@goddeketal Military or no military,
the climate is changing fast
bc of increased carbon dioxide
in the infrared zone
of the atmosphere.
The physical properties
of carbon dioxide
include interacting
w long wave infrared energy
passing through.
@trai_all@DanielA43161549@AnnLadenberger@bharris1968 My employer at the time had no accommodations for nursing mothers. We were expected to nurse behind a curtain next to tourists who fell down and bloodied their knees in first aid. When both beds were full of patients, we were not allowed to nurse there at all.
@trai_all@DanielA43161549@AnnLadenberger@bharris1968 The only other option was to sit on the floor of the break area’s bathroom next to the only outlet a few feet away from the toilet stalls, next to a dead cockroach we named George that was there for half a year. The door was loud and creaky, & every time it opened, milk stopped.
@trai_all@DanielA43161549@AnnLadenberger@bharris1968 There are laws for workplace accommodations for nursing mothers in California. They need to have a room w a door that locks. So I went to HR to ask about that, because I was getting mastitis from inability to pump, & my husband needed to feed SOMETHING to the baby while I worked.
