Polio has a higher level of asymptomatic cases than #SARScov2 (up to 95%). The history of polio should act as a warning shot to us for Covid. In 1916 in New York there was a large polio outbreak, much of the transmission came from patients that showed no symptoms whatsoever.
Yet this left over 2,000 people dead and nationally in the US 6,000 people died. Many were paralysed by this condition. We know from studies and testing that #SARSCoV2 transmits asymptomatically.
We are still learning about the many hundreds of strains that cause COVID. There are many studies highlighting the long term risks from neurological, blood clots to heart conditions. We should be trying to suppress infections and stop the spread.
We have gone past the point where we should be waiting to act. WHO has informed us that 'hundreds of millions' will need 'long term care' following on from having an infection. We can prevent this using good ventilation, opening the windows and by using an air filter #N95.

Many viruses are asymptomatic e.g. Polio. You can live with hepatitis C for years and it causes damage to the liver long before patients become aware of it. Around 40% of covid infections are asymptomatic, this doesn’t mean it’s harmless. Just because you aren’t having symptoms
doesn’t mean all is necessarily ok. Which is why we need a national screening program for #SARSCoV2
Whilst the risk of getting long covid might be lower, it’s not risk free and you can get long covid from asymptomatic infections. You can definitely pass this infection to your nearest and dearest, which was always the problem with care homes and hospitals from the start.

Mike Yeadon has been saying again that asymptomatic infection of covid doesn’t exist. I see anti-vaxxers claiming this all the time on twitter. It’s totally untrue. See thread below, up to 40% of covid transmission comes from asymptomatic cases. aap.com.au/factcheck/form…
Now he’s moving onto other respiratory transmission which of course can be transmitted via aerosols e.g Avian Flu, RSV.

Part of the circulating disinformation on #COVID is that there is no such thing as an asymptomatic covid infection. This is completely incorrect. Here is a study showing that around 40% of infections are asymptomatic. jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…
Let’s talk about asymptomatic disease and infections. What is it? news-medical.net/health/What-Do…
Many viruses are asymptomatic. Hepatitis C is an example of a virus where 80% may not experience any symptoms at all.

We don’t even know the actual number of people who died from #COVID because our governments have been so economic with the truth. How can we trust them on the number with long covid, which to me seems fairly static for a long period of time? I’ll give you some examples.
This statistic is showing nearly 7 million deaths worldometers.info/coronavirus/

@scotgov I am appalled and disgusted at the decision to ban masks in care homes. My relative died in a care home due to lack of testing. Vaccine protection has waned and our elderly and staff are at risk from long covid.
One in ten infections lead to long covid. Staff and patients are at risk. Why would you place an elderly person at risk from long covid. The nature study 2022 advised on masking due to the number of breakthrough infections, did you fail to read this?
We as individuals have a #RightToLife a #RightToFeelSafe This is taking away those rights. Banning masks is wrong and will lead to more covid deaths in care homes. It makes me annoyed because I feel the government has learnt nothing in over three years.

Over three years on and I find the ongoing silence on COVID remarkable. The lack of empathy shown to anyone vulnerable by the government is truly staggering. Over three years on and hundreds of thousands have no Evusheld. UKHSA has taken away booster vaccines from many vulnerable
Long covid sufferers have had little of any support and why are there not national screening/treatment plans in place? How did we get to a place where 62k children now have long covid?
Why after 3 years are hospitals and care homes removing testing when the majority of people are going unvaccinated? Vaccines are waning but it’s the ONLY protection on offer. Please don’t try to fob us off with this wall of natural immunity. Immunity from which of the hundreds
