Delhi High Court to pronounce on Monday judgment in the PIL moved by Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay challenging notifications of RBI and SBI that permit exchange of Rs. 2000 currency notes without requirement of any identity proof.

A division bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad will pronounce the judgment at 10:30 AM.

Order was reserved in the PIL on May 23.

@AshwiniUpadhyay has also prayed that RBI and SBI be directed ensure that the Rs. 2000 currency notes are deposited in respective bank accounts only, so that the no one can deposit money in other accounts and people having black money could be identified easily.

Delhi High Court will today pronounce its decision on the bail plea of #AamAadmiParty leader and former Deputy Chief Minister #ManishSisodia in the CBI case alleging corruption in implementation of excise policy for 2021-22. Image
Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma had reserved the order on May 11. Sisodia is currently in judicial custody in the cases registered by the CBI and ED. He was denied bail by the special judge in CBI case on March 31. He was later denied bail in the ED case also by the trial court.
The judgement is expected to be pronounced at 10:30 am. Sisodia had argued that no evidence of money trail has been found from him by CBI in the alleged liquor policy scam case and that the allegations against him are “in the realm of likelihood.”
