I would like to share the @RIC_1111 story with you in this thread 👇

1/ It was the first serious lock down in 2021. Indeed, we received the stay home order from government...

2/ I was working on one of my artworks behind the computer but my partner @MirzaNFT didn't have anything to do at home.
Meanwhile, was following news about @Snowden and @Stella_Assange (Julian) charges and their situation.
He got curious about laws, crimes and penalties..

3/ He saw a few documentaries about some ex prisoners and figured out how laws can be unfair and crucial.
Anyway, he got bored after just one day staying home.
I gave him the iPad and asked him to draw something for fun.
He searched and showed me this pic while...

4/ talking about the documentaries. He mentioned that raccoons are popular for robbery.
I came up with a idea that we can make a pfp collection with prisoner theme and I showed him @BoardApeYC project as a role model. This is my partner's first drawing:

5/ Then we decided to drag the raccoon to sth like Interrogation room and we thought how about it contained a content not just an avatar. So we added the crime file.
At that moment, I finished the artwork I was working on and joined my partner.
Things got interesting to me 🤤

6/ I started cleaning up with this vector drawing.
Then I changed the ears and eyes. Also add more shadows on the body.

7/ Here is our first RIC (Raccoons In Custody) who might be familiar for you.
He is one of the Victor Hugo's legendry characters who serving a 19-year-long prison sentence for stealing a bread.
Now you can guess who I'm talking about 😉

8/ We ended up with over 300 traits which categorized in 19 possible properties.
Surprisingly, we created 1,111 RIC by manually combining the traits.
Once again, we didn't just make avatars, but we made characters by giving them a unique look and matching them with a crime.

9/ As @Snowden and @Stella_Assange were in our minds, we created them too.
Also, we put a few more special characters that could be familiar for you among.

10/ Release time...
We had some issues. First of all none of us was a developer. Second, we couldn't hire one because it was just one year from our migration to AU and we were in a saving mode.
Third, we didn't have the #Json files for uploading in #IPFS ...

11/ So I decided to mint them on @opensea which was the cheapest platform. It wasn't a real mint actually, a lazy mint.
I spent several days to upload the pics and adding that 19 possible properties one by one 😖
I handled the Twitter and Discord as well.

12/ Except two friends, no one showed up to buy any. That was predictable because we weren't popular.
About one year later, @0xDecaArt showed up and faced me with the reality that all I done by adding traits were nothing.
For the first time I tracked my project on @0xDecaArt ..

13/ Just the bought ones were live at blockchain and without any property. The Metadata just included the description 😭😱
I felt horribly down...

14/ A few months ago I used my cash flow to mint a personal contract for RIC at @manifoldxyz and then made the first batch mint. I minted 200 RICs and listed half of them at @foundation
Why? I don't like blind minting. It's like gambling. I didn't have the budget for it anyway.

15/ If it's your question, yes, I added all the traits one by one once again and I still need to make 5 more batches 😅
It doesn't bother me at all. I just wanted the @RIC_1111 live in the #blockchain for ever.

16/ Although, we haven't any sale yet, I believe in what I'm doing and the RIC project.
We don't have a popular studio like @yugalabs but we will have some day.
I'm not a #Web3 influencer like @punk6529 but I can be.
Everything has a beginning... 😇
