This is my Dad’s vet pin. He wore it walking with his friend Gus and other Indigenous vets at the Remembrance Day parades. Gus is from @MetisNationON and he is the guy in the upper right corner of this label. He and my dad were friends for years. 
My dad carried this medal of St. Anne his entire career. Patron Saint of Mi’kmaw and mother to St. Mary the patron saint of Acadians.
Being Acadian my Dad’s medals were issued by UN not Canada for his service in Korean War. The UN had our records too.

Canada divided Acadia & Mi’kma’ki with Upper and Lower Canada and Provincial lines. My family in Quebec are Métis via Francois David but St Boniface lacks the access to NB repository and said to me they can’t verify us yet both lines here are my parent’s lines. Same tree.

Personally I do not like Orange Masons or Knights of Columbus because each is the flip side of the other and both discriminate. My dad tried Knights of Columbus and quit. Not good groups folks. We need to move beyond both of them. Time to advance equity.

Technically Acadia is still a nation proven by UK, Canada, US and International law with this affidavit by Cajun Solicitor Warren Perrin who secured the official apology of Queen Elizabeth and Canada’s Governor General.
The Vatican still recognizes the Vatican Concordat of 1610. Boundaries were identified for Acadia but we honoured Indigenous boundaries. The Oligarchs who benefitted from deportation used Acadian law to justify the railway coast to coast and kept us illiterate and in poverty.
