Initial low resolution satellite imagery from Nevatim Airbase this morning appears to show some damage around 31°12'15.7"N 35°02'19.7"E, which aligns with reports of a building being damaged. Not seeing anything else obvious, currently. Couple of annoying cloud shadows.
Another potential impact on the runway, and just south of it. Can't make up my mind on the one south of it, could be the change in light which can be observed on the larger structures.
Higher resolution required for this.
for those who want to gander themselves, here;
I am not seeing anything overly obvious would contradict the reports of it being hit and sustaining small damage, there are a few markers per se, but it's minimal, if that.browser.dataspace.copernicus.eu/?zoom=14&lat=3…
as for Ramon, nothing, looks normal.
We will see higher resolution imagery in the coming days I am sure which will solidify the 2 areas I've pointed out. But from an initial assessment of low resolution on Nevatim, it looks insignificant. Ain Al-Assad was much worse.
NIR imagery (Near Infrared) does appear to show the impact just south of the taxiway, not the taxiway itself, CEP (impact accuracy) at this distance is impressive. Higher resolution still required, but feels more conclusive the more I look.
and the other area in NIR for comparison.
Remember - all this needs verified by higher resolution, this is all low resolution 10m/px but some signs are there, but please remember this is all needs properly verified.
Samir has pointed out an extremely thin cloud which could be causing some of the shadow cast, again, hence the reason for verification. I trust Samir, hence adding it to the thread.
After following the rhetorics and post event details of these drones for years in the Middle East seeing them now “in the wild” is truly something. The illusive Shahed’s doing their thing, in the public eye.
Sat. Imagery courtesy of @planet from earlier today shows several vehicles on the runway at #Aleppo Intl. Airport, #Syria most likely conducting a repair (square cutover already) after the reported #Israel|i airstrike hours after #IRGC affiliated Yas Air Cargo EP-GOX landed.
To the south of the runway you can see the damage caused to the DVOR/DME Navaid which also appears to be targeted.
Heavy scaring can be seen in both areas due to fires. Notably, personally, I’ve only twice seen a runway targeting have some heavy prominent scaring.
In September 2020 an airstrike at T4 left heavy burn marks after something was reportedly struck on the apron. And the included tweet in 2021.
